Mohammad Yunus was born in Bangladesh and established the Grameen Bank in the 1970s to provide microloans to the poor and fight poverty. He won the Nobel Peace Prize for his work in microcredit and poverty alleviation. Yunus continues working at Grameen Bank today as poverty remains a major issue in Bangladesh.
