Why don't you have a personal board?
--lulusweden
Be better, do better.
Get a personal board.
A Company always needs a board. There are a lot of CEOs also
have their Private advisory boards. According to Mbalib,
Companies with private boards are growing 2.5 times faster
than others.
Anyway, the board we are concerning today, neither a company
board nor a private advisory board. it is called "Personal
board", which means the only objective of the board is to help
individuals be better and do better in life.
“Have some group that will tell you the truth and whom
you can tell the truth. If you have people like that
around you, what else matters? ” —Warren Bennis
A personal board is like holding up several mirrors pointed at
you, you get various outside perspectives on yourself that you
won’t be able to discover. As you know t he only "brand" which
belongs to you is "YOU", which will take your entire life to
build. But we all have limitations and weaknesses . We cannot
always manage or control our mind well. We cannot be
objective to ourselves at all the time. And we will never have
enough experiences or knowledge about the world. Therefore,
in order to achieve a better and wiser decision, you need a
personal board.
"None of us is as smart as all of us.” – Ken Blanchard

■■■
To specify more details, I will describe it by answering 4
questions that asked by my friend Peter.
What constitutes the difference between a corporate BoD
and a personal BoD?
◢Corporate board is a business activity union, but a personal
board is totally personal, you select the board members by
yourself, they all knew you well, you trust them, and you do
not have to pay :)
You could have more than 1 board, that is all depen d on your
demands. You could have one board for your career, one for
your relationships etc.
What are the two most important questions to be answered
by BoD?
◢1) What should I do 😊
2) Should I do or not 😊
Yes, when you have an issue to ask for help from your board,
they have to discuss or debate to get an agreement of the
solution. They have to tell you what the pros and cons are,
and what are the solid viable suggestions for solving it.
In another word, it is the responsibility of the board to help
to guide between your dream and the reality, to help you to
accept that there is a dream world and there is a boring
reality:) But you need to accept, master and do well in both
worlds.
“Without a dream your rational life is not worth
living.” - Enzo Bussoli
Is there any personal issue you should not share with your
personal BoD?
◢Oh yes, such as your bank code 😉 Actually there are no
regulations, all depend on what do you want to achieve. You
need to provide information for others to give suggestions.
Just as same as you want to win a court, then you need to be
honest to your lawyer, then he/she might save you ev en you
did very wrong things 😊
WHO should, in any situation, not be in your personal BoD?
◢You need an objective solution to build a better life,
therefore you should not have people who are motivated
by benefits from the issue.
Therefore, just as my friend Enzo says, you need people who
you can trust and be honest with, who cares about you as a
friend and a fellow human being.
“A key factor for success is trust, openness and
sincerity in your relationship with the Board. Without
none of these can exist without the other. Failing to
adhere to these traits, a Personal Board could be to a
disadvantage. You surround yourself with people who
adhere to flattery or fake advice.” —Peter Bondelid
