Minority groups are quickly growing
in North Carolina. The Y is committed to
nurturing minority teens to be future
leaders in our communities.
The Lighter Y Achievers program introduces teens
to minority adult role models who guide students
through experiences that prepare them for life
after high school. Students are exposed to higher
education and career opportunities. Through civic
engagement, community service projects, and
academic enhancement programs,
students make new friends, learn
healthy lifestyle choices, and
prepare for their future.
