This document lists and criticizes the reasons given by 7 celebrities for becoming vegetarian. Their reasons are deemed "dumb" including craving meat after a movie, citing illogical health claims, and making the switch after one instance of bad chicken. The summary criticizes choosing vegetarianism for random or misinformed reasons rather than developing a balanced, sustainable diet plan.
7 dumbest celebrity vegetarians and their ignorant reasons
1. The 7 dumbest celebrity vegetarians. Ever.
Ok, I don't have a problem with vegetarians in
general. I do believe that monitoring your red
meat intake has a lot of health benefits, and
there are some vegetarian diets that work. But
some of these celebrities became vegetarians for
the dumbest reasons I have ever heard of.
I want to lay out some of the most ignorant
vegetarian conversions of all time.
# 7 Christian Bale-
The underlying reasons behind Christian Bale
becoming a vegetarian are not fully apparent.
2. However, it'd obvious they must have been
incredibly stupid.
How do we know that? This quote says it all "I
was up in Toronto and went to see that
movie Life Is Beautiful. By myself. And when I
came out, I had a craving for blood unlike
anything I had ever experienced since I decided
to go vegetarian at the age of 7. It was a
compulsion. It was undeniable. I went to several
restaurants, one right after the other, and got
the biggest, bloodiest steaks I could get my
hands on. It was the first time I had tasted flesh
in almost twenty years."
Anyone who decides to gorge themselves on
large, unhealthy portions of red meat because
they saw a hauntingly beautiful, foreign film
about Nazi-occupied Italy, must have a generally
self-destructive pattern of eating to begin with.
The reasons to be a vegetarian ought to be
solidly rooted in health considerations.
Specifically, you should have easy diet plans that
you constructed with a health coach or
nutritional expert. Randomly giving in to cravings
like this certainly means Christian's blood sugar
was off and that his vegetarian diet was not
maintainable to begin with.
# 6 Albert Einstein.
3. Despite arguably being the most intelligent
human being ever, Albert is on the record as
saying "I am living without all fats and am
feeling good this way. It seems to me that man
was not born to be a carnivore." What's the
problem with being a vegetarian just to cut out
4. fats? Hello, FAT IS GOOD FOR YOU. Healthy fats,
such as those obtained from organic fish and
chicken significantly decrease risk of heart
disease, stroke, Crohn's disease, and arthritis. So
how can the smartest man alive cite such an
ignorant reason? Well, that's what happens when
you spend too much time in your head- you get
completely disconnected from your body!
# 5 Mr. Spock-
Spock became a vegetarian because Vulcans
decided millions of years ago that raising animals
on the planet vulcan took a lot more resources
than growing corn (which vulcans love).
5. Specifically a single cow, by their calculations,
took 13.6 Mbtus of energy whereas a comparable
amount of calories in corn took only 0.3. Vulcan
is a desert planet and it was LOGICAL to grow
corn and not eat animals.
But aboard the enterprise, there was no reason
to follow this rule. So what does Spock do?
Instead of partaking in the dozens of delicious
meals his coworkers eat regularly on the bridge
(such as the plomeek soup that Captain Kirk
enjoys- check out a good plomeek soup recipe
here) he just STARVES himself, and never
eats...ever. Except once, here is the quote "“I’m
behaving disgracefully. I have eaten animal flesh
and I’ve enjoyed it. What is wrong with me?“
Obviously he took the practical consideration of
growing vegetables way too far, starved himself,
and has serious issues around eating food period.
Not QUITE so logical, Mr. Spock.
# 4 Ricki Lake-
6. Ricki is a vegetarian who spends a considerable
amount of time advocating for animal rights and
is a convicted member of PETA. Nothing wrong
with that. She also suffered from adult onset
diabetes and obesity. Not so good. If you're
going to put in so much time advocating a
certain diet, you should at least make it balanced
enough to prevent chronic health conditions.
Instead of clinging on to a vegetarian diet, she
should have developed a strategy for managing
blood sugar. You can eat vegetables all day but if
you are not eating foods with anti-inflammatory
hormones, you will retain insulin and your body
just turns all those vegetables into fat. Not to
mention you will crave sweets constantly- which
is apparently what happened to Ricki!
# 3 Alanis Morissette.
The angst-ridden singer-songwriter decided to
become a vegetarian after she received a fan
letter from PETA depicting a dead calf. Makes
7. sense....Except that when she declared her new
diet, all she said was "I want to be the healthiest
person, ever." It's a fact that vegetarians have
as many health problems on average as meat-
eaters.....it's people with a balanced diet that are
healthy. Not to mention she didn't even reply to
the fan letter!
# 2 Apu Nahasapeemapetilon-
Apu reveals himself to be a vegetarian in 1995,
after Lisa, frustrated and angry with her family,
runs into his store and bites on a hot dog. After
Lisa screams in disgust, Apu steps forward to
reveal that it was, in fact, a tofu dog, and that
Apu eats them every day because he is a
vegetarian. He goes on to state he feels this is
healthier and more ethical. More ethical...maybe.
Healthier? Um....serving fried tofu on a
convenience store grill,
a tofu dog that looks highly processed and
completely devoid of nutrients.. Sorry to break
8. the news, but FRESH, unprocessed foods,
whether it be meat or otherwise- always have
higher health benefits then processed foods.
Hands down! True, the meat industry has a
reputation for processing, but the soy and peanut
industries take a close second. These industries
are KNOWN for assembly line processing and
chemical enhancement that is every bit as
unhealthy as processed meat. Sorry Apu.
#1 Jack Johnson,
when asked why he became a vegetarian, he
replied“I was on tour and I ate some really bad
chicken nachos."
Need I say more?
The fact he chose to live a lifestyle where he did
not plan his meals and ate fast food wasn't the
problem nooo, it was somehow construed to be
the chicken- which is an incredibly health source
of protein. Oh, he adds this little piece of wisdom
9. about his vegetarian lifestyle " If anybody invites
me over, I eat whatever they serve."
