Rapid advancements in healthcare have led to new opportunities for healthcare IT. As the US healthcare system moves forward, health IT has to keep pace and define an interoperable ecosystem. FHIR® is becoming the standard for healthcare information exchange. Murad will share Prime’s journey on how they have partnered with WSO2 towards this evolution.

Healthcare records are increasingly becoming digitized. As patients move around the healthcare ecosystem, their electronic health records must be available, discoverable, and understandable. Further, to support automated clinical decisions and other machine-based processing, the data must also be structured and standardized. This is becoming a matter of interest for institutes such as government agencies and regional bodies, and we are already seeing rules and regulations come into action.
Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR®) is a next-generation standard framework created by HL7 combining the best features of previous HL7 standards. FHIR® leverages the latest web standards and focuses on ease of implementability.
In this deck, Nirmal will introduce WSO2 Healthcare Integration Platform and demonstrate how it boosts developer productivity when exposing FHIR® APIs.

FQHCs prefer working with EMR/EHR systems because they are comfortable with it. So they do not wish to move out their EHR/EMR system. An EHR/EMR system has many advantages but when it is complemented with a Referral Management software practices can experience many more benefits.
How great it would be if a Patient Referral Management software could integrate seamlessly with an EMR/EHR system? It can help in ensuring end-to-end Patient Referral Management without disturbing the existing system.

Unit VI: Case Study
Animal use in toxicity testing has long been a controversial issue; however, there can be benefits. Read “The Use of Animals in Research,” which is an article that can be retrieved from http://www.toxicology.org/pubs/docs/air/AIR_Final.pdf.
Evaluate the current policies outlined in the Position Statement on page 5 of the article. Use the SOT Guiding Principles in the Use of Animals in Toxicology to guide you in your analysis. Feel free to use additional information and avenues of information, including the textbook, to critically analyze this policy.
In addition, answer the following questions:
How do toxicologists determine which exposures may cause adverse health effects?
How does the information apply to what you are learning in the course?
What were the objectives of this toxicity testing?
What were the endpoints of this toxicity testing?
Finally, include whether or not you agree with the Society of Toxicology's position on animal testing.
Your Case Study assignment should be three to four pages in length. Use APA style guidelines in writing this assignment, following APA rules for formatting, quoting, paraphrasing, citing, and referencing.

The Affordable Care Act law was passed to improve healthcare for its citizens in the United States by increasing the people that have health insurance and by decreasing healthcare cost. A benefactor to this law is the Medicare/Medicaid program which provides medical coverage to the poor, elderly and disabled individuals which is funded by the federal government. The Federal government covers funding for Medicare programs while it provides reimbursement funds for Medicaid programs provided by the states. (The National Federation Of Independent Business V Sebellius, Secretary Of Health And Human Services, 2012). The primary benefits of the Affordable Care Act Law are covering more consumers with improved quality of services while reducing healthcare cost, access to healthcare, and consumer protection. (ASPA, 2014) Centers For Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) manages both of these programs and by modernizing and strengthening the current system they will be lowering cost and providing quality care. Executive Summary
The Center for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) is the federal office to organized the integration of Medicaid and Medicare services across multiple agencies nationwide. Its purpose is to improve access to services, ...

Less Is More: Utilizing Ballerina to Architect a Cloud Data PlatformWSO2
At its core, the challenge of managing Human Resources data is an integration challenge: estimates range from 2-3 HR systems in use at a typical SMB, up to a few dozen systems implemented amongst enterprise HR departments, and these systems seldom integrate seamlessly between themselves. Providing a multi-tenant, cloud-native solution to integrate these hundreds of HR-related systems, normalize their disparate data models and then render that consolidated information for stakeholder decision making has been a substantial undertaking, but one significantly eased by leveraging Ballerina. In this session, we’ll cover:
The overall software architecture for VHR’s Cloud Data Platform
Critical decision points leading to adoption of Ballerina for the CDP
Ballerina’s role in multiple evolutionary steps to the current architecture
Roadmap for the CDP architecture and plans for Ballerina
WSO2’s partnership in bringing continual success for the CD
The integration landscape is changing rapidly with the introduction of technologies like GraphQL, gRPC, stream processing, iPaaS, and platformless. However, not all existing applications and industries can keep up with these new technologies. Certain industries, like manufacturing, logistics, and finance, still rely on well-established EDI-based message formats. Some applications use XML or CSV with file-based communications, while others have strict on premises deployment requirements. This talk focuses on how Ballerina's built-in integration capabilities can bridge the gap between "old" and "new" technologies, modernizing enterprise applications without disrupting business operations.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.
Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.
