Genre refers to a type of writing that is instantly recognizable to members of a discourse community. The writing process typically involves planning, drafting, reviewing and editing, and producing a final version. Many students think they cannot or do not want to write because they lack confidence, find it boring, or feel they have nothing to say. There are various writing issues students may face, such as organizing their writing in a clear sequence, writing neatly, and avoiding over-correction which can be demotivating.
