under its brutal impact. the inter connectivity of accelerated global economies with encroached

question is whether existing systems will capable of scaling back production at levels and in ways

unprecedented disaster emerge more redilent later, withthe goal of mitigating the economic and

You are a financial planner with a specialty in risk managem.pdfaaryanentp
You are a financial planner with a specialty in risk management. Youve completed the insurance in
financial planning course at GBC and have obtained your license to sell insurance products. You
love your career and have built a successful practice based mainly on referrals from your satisfied
clients.
Dave, aged 42, and Adela, aged 41, are new clients. Dave works in sales for a large
pharmaceutical company earning a base salary of $170,000 a year with annual commissions of
$50,000 a year.
Adele, is a real estate agent. Adele works from home, typically earning $140,000 a year
(approximately $100,000 after she pays realtor expenses). Both Dave and Adele are happy with
their careers and believe they could find employment easily, if something should happen.
They feel pretty comfortable financially but have asked you to flag any gaps that you can see in
their risk management strategy. They also have specific questions that theyd like you to address.
Dave and Adele married and they have two children: Harvey, aged 17, and Carol, aged 16. Adeles
mother, Carrie, lives with them. Carrie is 79 years old and widowed. Carrie moved in with Dave
and Adele to help with their children, however her health has started to deteriorate. Adele, thinks
her mother will live until she is 85 years-old. When their daughter Carol was born, Dave and Adele
purchased a new home. The house cost $650,000, at the time, and they have an outstanding
mortgage of $290,000.
Although Dave and Adele do not plan on moving, the house, based on its location, was appraised
at $2.3 million. The mortgage on their home is the only long-term debt they have and the mortgage
is insured with the lender (bank), should Dave or Adele die (joint first-to-die policy). When they
bought their home, they bought a comprehensive homeowners insurance policy with an 80%
coinsurance factor.
The amount of coverage they have hasnt changed and its equal to the cost of the home at time of
purchase. The current replacement cost of the house is estimated at $1.2 million.
Harvey is in his final year of high school and will go to college in the fall. Hes been accepted into
the automotive program at a community college close to his home and plans on living with his
parents until he finishes his studies. Carol, in grade 11, has indicated that she would like to study
law. Although there are many great law schools in Canada, Carol would like to study in the US or
the UK.
Dave and Adele set-up RESPs for both Harvey and Carol. The market value of Harveys RESP is
$48,357 and Carols RESP is $32,400. Although working in sales has been hard, both Dave and
Adele have done well. Daves employer provides all employees with group benefits, which Adele
and the children are enrolled in.

write the code for
Part 1 Context-Free Grammars
Create context-free grammars for these languages. The grammar must be specified as a text
file in the format below.
1. (Filename: cfg1.txt) Create a context-free grammar for the language that accepts all odd
length strings over the alphabet T = {a, b} that begin with a and end with b.
2. (Filename: cfg2.txt) Create a context-free grammar for the alphabet T = {x, y, z} that is
equivalent to the regular expression: ^(xy?)*(zz|xyz)+$
Grammar File Format
The grammar file format must be specified using the notation in class. Some rules:
Nonterminals can either be a single capital letter or a longer string (with no spaces). If you
use longer strings, you must separate the elements on the right-hand side of the
production with spaces.
The terminal alphabet T is provided with each problem. Anything that is not a terminal is
assumed to be a nonterminal.
The assignment requires the grammar to be a context-free grammar. This means that the
left-hand side of each production only consists of a single nonterminal.
You may use the shorthand notation using |.
The start symbol must either be S or Start.
You should use E or Empty to represent the empty string.
Example using single letter nonterminals with T = {a, b}:
S -> aS
S -> X
X -> bX
X -> E
Example using longer string nonterminals and shorthand notation with T = { (, ), +, *, 0, 1}:
Start -> BoolExpr
BoolExpr -> BoolExpr BoolOp BoolExpr | ( BoolExpr ) | BoolVal
BoolOp -> + | *
BoolVal -> 0 | 1
Unfortunately, there is no Python simulator for testing your grammars like the DFAs in last
assignments and the Turing machines in Part 2. Your grammars will be graded manually.

write a precis of the following passage and give a suitable title for the precis.
Epidemics have happened in the past, but the speed and scope of the present contagion have left
the world reefing under its brutal impact. The interconnectivity of accelerated global economies
with encroached habitats, exhaustive agriculture and commoditised wildlife has helped the virus to
move without any inhibition to expose the weak fundamentals of the existing economic systems.
The billion-dollar question is whether existing systems will be capable of scaling back production
at levels and in ways that do not cause further loss of livelihood and life? And, will the growth of
society slowed down by an unprecedented disaster emerge more resilient later, with the goal of
mitigating the economic and ecological crises which have led it to the present situation? The core
problem with the capitalist growth model is that it leads to mounting debt, increasing inequality,
rising unemployment, and shrinking finances, and sacrifices made in pursuit of growth lead to
externalising costs that are forced on poor people and mute nature. What it does, though, is to
keep billions under the illusion that the trickle-down effect will get them leftovers of accumulated
wealth year-on-year, but the overall architecture of the economic construct remains exclusionist at
the core. Confronting the pursuit of economic growth head-on may seem preposterous, but
slowing down under the current pandemic with ideas on simple living having caught on seems an
apt time to press home the case for degrowth. After defining the term in their first book, Degrowth,
A Vocabulary for A New Era, the four authors (Giorgos Kallis, Susan Paulson, Giacomo D'Alisa,
and Federico Demania) take the idea forward in their second outing half a decade later by
suggesting a way of living with less but promoting wellbeing, equity and sustainability, According
to the four-authors. Degrowth should help people embark on life joumeys with patience,
compassion and care for themselves and others rather than investing time and resources in
material acquisitions. While the political system is obsessed with a growth-driven model based on
private property, paid labour, and a consumptive market, The Case for Degrowth provides
numerous cross-country examples of eco-communes, transition towns, and co-living communities
that need support and scaling up. Offering deep analysis, the book argues for a transformative
politics that is not a back-to-the- roots journey but one that provides multiple options and strategies
about recreating frameworks for engaging communities in playing an active role in designing their
own life support systems. Ever since it was launched at a global conference in Paris in 2008,
degrowth has caught on as an idea for researchers and movements to pursue as an alternative to
growth-cosessed poisics With GOP driven global economy taking a severe beating during the
pandemic, the book could not have come at a mo.

Banquet Ballyhoo at the Brunswick
The annual members meeting and banquet at the Brunswick Club was only three days away, and
dining room manager Alex King was a little worried. He had just hired five new servers, but he
wasnt completely convinced they could handle the job. The selection process had been dismal:
the applicants with experience didnt want to work for the hourly wage the club was offering, and
the five applicants who would accept $7 an hour had less-than-stellar work histories. But he had
been forced to hire all five of these latter applicants, despite his misgivings. One had been fired
from a previous job, one had only quick-service restaurant experience and another seemed to
move from job to job. Still, warm bodies were better than no bodies at all, he figured.
Alex was swamped with the final preparations for the banquet and was counting on his
experienced servers to give the new staff members enough of an orientation to get them through
this first big affair. Then he could take the time to train them thoroughly. For now, he planned to
quickly review the employee manual with the new servers, go over some basic club procedures,
and have them shadow the veteran servers during the lunch and dinner shifts between now and
the banquet. It was only days. Alex crossed his fingers and hoped for the best.
On Saturday evening, the dining room gleamed with crystal and candlelight. Alex strode through
the room, straightening a centerpiece here, pushing in a chair there. At the back of the dining room
he found the clubs senior servers-Charlotte, Margie, and Alfred- giving the five new servers some
final instructions. Wait, there were only four new servers.
Wheres Tammy? asked Alex. He turned as the young woman rushed in hair billowing around her
shoulders. As she brushed her hair out of her face, her bright red fingernails caught Alexs eye.
When he explained that her hair would need to be pulled back and that bold nail polish was not
part of the servers uniform, she said sullenly, No one told me. Well, youve been told now, he
replied. Alex hoped this incident wouldnt set the tone for the evening.
For a while, things seemed to progress without a hitch. Then Alex spotted Miranda, another new
server, pop a canap into her mouth as she mingled among the club members with her tray. I hope
nobody else saw that, he thought, scanning the faces of nearby members. Then he saw Phil, the
bartender, apologizing as he handed over a drink to Mr. Finley, who was obviously perturbed. Alex
hurried over to see if he could help.
Phil explained that Mr. Finley was the fourth member who had complained about a botched drink
order. Didnt anyone tell these new kids how to place drink orders? he asked. Mr. Finley only drinks
Dewars scotch, but I didnt know it was his order and made the drink with our house scotch. If Id
known we had so many new servers, I wouldve given them a crash course in member service and
bar procedures. They sure need it.

Daves employer provides all employees with group benefits, which Adele
and the children are enrolled in.

write the code for Part 1 ContextFree Grammars Create con.pdfaaryanentp
write the code for
Part 1 Context-Free Grammars
S -> aS
S -> X
X -> bX
X -> E
Example using longer string nonterminals and shorthand notation with T = { (, ), +, *, 0, 1}:
Start -> BoolExpr
BoolExpr -> BoolExpr BoolOp BoolExpr | ( BoolExpr ) | BoolVal
BoolOp -> + | *
BoolVal -> 0 | 1
Unfortunately, there is no Python simulator for testing your grammars like the DFAs in last
assignments and the Turing machines in Part 2. Your grammars will be graded manually.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
