This document discusses an organization called World Up that aims to foster diversity, cross-cultural understanding, and social change through educational programming related to hip hop, technology, and education. It provides examples of past projects including an interactive art exhibit called RE:FORM SCHOOL that highlighted issues with the public school system and an event called the Living Remix that brought together kids and hip hop artists to create a track. World Up's goal is to empower children through workshops, programming, and events by harnessing their talents in a unique and global way. It is seeking help through sponsorships, resources, and partnerships to further expand its workshops, platforms, and global community building efforts.

Arts funding across the country is being cut and the need
for technological literacy is finally entering the mainstream
consciousness.
Children are more technologically literate than ever, but
have not been taught how to channel this proficiency into
something productive and positive for their communities
and society at large.

Since 2004, we have been fostering diversity, cross-cultural
understanding, and social change with educational programming
and events, music festivals and conferences. Helmed by a
diverse set of volunteers, we are united by a deep love for music,
and our faith in its power as a tool for social change.

11. case study.
On October 2010, World Up joined REDU to launch
RE:FORM SCHOOL, an interactive art exhibit uniting legions
of visual artists, community leaders and educators to send a
loud message that the time has come to fix our ailing public
school system.
Participants included Michel Gondry, Swoon, Shepard
Fairey, Chris Johanson and over a hundred more.

15. the living remix
The Living Remix is a live recording session in which we
bring together kids and world renowned hip hop artists to
create a music track and have the track remixed by
producers and other children worldwide, in real-time.

16. the Living Remix according to Lupe Fiasco:
“Taking everything in its simplest format and letting [the kids] do it.
Then, give that [track] to the world so it’s constantly growing... Let’s
send it to Brazil, let these dudes put their take on it, then send it to
India, let these dudes put their take on it, now send it back and we’re
going to change this a little bit, and send it back to Brazil. So it’s
never a finished product, it’s always a work in progress.”
