Around the world, the right to health of millions is increasingly coming under threat.

3. Conflicts are devastating lives, causing death, pain, hunger and psychological distress.

4. The burning of fossil fuels is simultaneously
driving the climate crisis and taking away
our right to breathe clean air.

5. • WHO Council on the Economics of Health for All has found that at
least 140 countries recognize health as a human right in their
constitution.
• Yet countries are not passing and
putting into practice laws to ensure
their populations are entitled
to access health services.

• Health is a state of complete physical,
mental and social wellbeing and not
merely the absence of diseases or
infirmity
Right to health
The right to health includes entitlements,
such as the right to control one’s health,
informed consent, bodily integrity, and
participation in health-related decision-
making. It also includes freedoms, like
freedom from torture, ill-treatment and
harmful practices.
