faced for her father who was a patient of dementia.

2. The very theme of World Alzheimer’s Month this year’s theme is “Every 3
Seconds, someone in the world develops dementia”.
It is seen the people they have meager knowledge and the people have
misconception on dementia which tends to become a global problem. As it is so
people should know on dementia very thoroughly.

3. Be a dementia friend to build a dementia friendly community.
The meeting was chaired by Professor Dr. Ahmad Ismail Mustafa, Dean
Faculty of Allied Health Science Daffodil International.
The welcome address was given by Dr.Harun-Ar-Rashid , Prof. & Head of the
Department of Public Health. Daffodil International University.
The meeting was also addressed by Md.Azizul Haque ,Secretary General ,
Alzheimer Society of Bangladesh and Rotarian Sheezan Khan, Chair,
Dementia, Rotary Bangladesh District 3281.
Renowned economist Dr.Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad, Chairman Palli Karma-
Sahayak Foundation (PKSF), and Chairman Dhaka School of Economics (DScE)
was the Chief Guest to grace the occasion.
There were other Dignitaries of the state Mr.Justice Md. Nazrul Islam Talukder,
Bangladesh Supreme Court, High court Division, Dr. A.K.M. Nur-Un Nabi,
Professor Department of Population Sciences, University of Dhaka and Mr. M
Khairul Alam District Governor 2019-20, Rotary International, District 3281,
Bangladesh.

4. Dr.Md.Mashiar Rahman, Asst. Prof.Department of Genetic Engineering & Biotechnology,
JUST presenting on Understanding Dementia through Power Point on WAM meeting .
Discussion on Dementia “We will be Dementia Friends, Please come and
listen to what family carers tell about life stories of dementia people”
The family golden caregivers talked on the various sides on dementia what
they learnt so long of their experiences being shared with us.
The names of the main awardees are being given below:

Islam 5. Advocate Abdul Malek .
This is the first time in Bangladesh that the awards have been given to the
golden caregivers

5. Renowned economist Dr.Qazi Kholiquzzaman Ahmad, Chairman Palli Karma-Sahayak
Foundation (PKSF), who inaugurated ‘I’m a Dementia Friend” and Dementia Information
& Care Mobile APPs. The Apps in Bengali version shall be downloaded Google Play

7. Delivery speeches are being given by golden caregivers
The guests attended in the meeting their valuable comments are given
bellow:
* Awareness’s to be built in the public.
* Research on dementia
*To form dementia friends National committee.
*To impart training to the Family and professional caregivers.
*To include dementia in the national plan and initiatives.
*To disseminate and spread on dementia the awarenesses all over Bangladesh.
* To prepare a country report on dementia.
*To build the Dementia centre (Deogaon, Thakurgaon, Bangladesh) in time for
which ASB requests everybody to come forward.

8. The main participants students, Family caregivers, teacher, Rotarians, civil society people and
electronic and print media men are seen in the meeting had gala end.
