WORK REFERENCE – Metso Minerals
RE: Employment Reference – Andrew Blythe
This is to confirm that Andrew Blythe worked under my direct Management in various senior roles
during his employment at METSO MINERALS.
Position 1: Based on his strong performance and proven industry knowledge within the Metso
Mobile Screening division then I appointed Mr. Blythe to the position of VICE PRESIDENT, GLOBAL
DEALER BUSINESS in January 2004.
His remit was to improve sales figures by elevating the profile and positively expanding the sales
footprint of the Metso Lokotrack product range with third party sales partners.
Mr. Blythe’s existing network, industry knowledge and strong leadership skills led to a hugely
significant increase in the sales of standard unit products as well as mobile systems equipment. He
used his strong leadership and guidance skills to negotiate away from existing sales companies whilst
at the same time clearly establishing a new route to market for the Metso mobile products.
He integrated well with his peers at board level showing a high degree of professionalism and
common sense when detailing his strategies and methods of execution. He ran a very tight and
successful Global Dealer Management team securing sales partnerships with some of the largest
equipment dealers and strongest brands.
During this time Mr. Blythe introduced the highly successful LOKOLAUNCH concept. On an annual
basis new Metso products would be launched as well as bringing the ever expanding sales partners
together in one place.
Position 2:
In December 2006 I appointed Mr. Blythe to the position of SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT – CONTRACTOR
SOLUTIONS BUSINESS UNIT. This role encompassed the direct management of his previous position
as well as increasing his responsibility for the whole Metso Lokotrack Business Unit from supply
chain to front end sales.
This role required a greater internal focus at board level, ensuring the rest of the business was
aligned with the increasing needs of the new sales partners and their clients.
Mr. Blythe’s energy and enthusiasm to professionally communicate and negotiate with his peers
was a key and major factor in the business units expansion and success.
Mr. Blythe ran a very close and tight management team that responded well to his leadership skills
and delivered strong results within their own departments.
Mr. Blythe’s positive, can-do, attitude is an immense strength when business’s are going through a
cycle of difficult change.
His global experience, down to earth approach, strong convincing skills and long industry knowledge
would be a valuable asset to any company.
In summary and based on what I experienced with Mr. Blythe then I would strongly recommend him
to any company with difficult and complex challenges both internally and externally in the markets.
