General Colin Powell On Leadership
This document contains 18 lessons on leadership from General Colin Powell. Some of the key points covered in the lessons include: being responsible means making difficult decisions that will upset some people; leaders must be accessible and address their employees' challenges; leaders should not be afraid to challenge experts or conform to stereotypes; and effective leadership relies on attracting talented people and keeping things simple.
Five Lessons Of Life
1. The first lesson is about showing kindness and attention to all people, even if just with a smile and greeting, from an experience where a student learned the name of a cleaning woman after being quizzed on it.
2. The second lesson is about selflessly helping others, even in difficult circumstances, as shown through a story where a man helped an African American woman stranded in the rain and she later gave him a gift in thanks.
3. The third lesson is about always remembering to appreciate those who serve you, as shown through a story of a boy leaving extra tips for a waitress after not having enough money for an ice cream sundae.
Corporate Lessons
The document provides three corporate lessons through short stories with morals. The lessons are:
1) To be idle you need a high position away from danger, like the crow sitting in a tree away from the fox.
2) Temporary shortcuts like eating dung may get you ahead but won't sustain you, as the turkey who ate dung to reach the top of the tree was then shot down.

We recently hosted the much-anticipated Community Skill Builders Workshop during our June online meeting. This event was a culmination of six months of listening to your feedback and crafting solutions to better support your PMI journey. Here’s a look back at what happened and the exciting developments that emerged from our collaborative efforts.
A Gathering of Minds
We were thrilled to see a diverse group of attendees, including local certified PMI trainers and both new and experienced members eager to contribute their perspectives. The workshop was structured into three dynamic discussion sessions, each led by our dedicated membership advocates.
Key Takeaways and Future Directions
The insights and feedback gathered from these discussions were invaluable. Here are some of the key takeaways and the steps we are taking to address them:
• Enhanced Resource Accessibility: We are working on a new, user-friendly resource page that will make it easier for members to access training materials and real-world application guides.
• Structured Mentorship Program: Plans are underway to launch a mentorship program that will connect members with experienced professionals for guidance and support.
• Increased Networking Opportunities: Expect to see more frequent and varied networking events, both virtual and in-person, to help you build connections and foster a sense of community.

Fox: "Do you know the time, because my watch is broken" Lion: "Oh, I can easily fix the watch for you" Fox: "Hmm... But it's a very complicated mechanism, and your big claws will only destroy it even more“
- 4. Lion: "Oh no, give it to me, and it will be fixed" Fox: "That's ridiculous! Any fool knows that lazy lions with great claws cannot fix complicated watches" Lion: "Sure they do, give it to me and it will be fixed"
- 5. The lion disappears into his cave, and after a while he comes back with the watch which is running perfectly. The fox is impressed, and the lion continues to lie lazily in the sun, looking very pleased with himself.
- 6. Soon a wolf comes along and stops to watch the lazy lion in the sun. - 12. It's a fine sunny day in the forest and a rabbit is sitting outside his burrow, tippy-tapping on his typewriter. Along comes a fox, out for a walk. Fox: "What are you working on?" Rabbit: "My thesis." Fox: "Hmm... What is it about?" Rabbit: "Oh, I'm writing about how rabbits eat foxes." Fox: "That's ridiculous ! Any fool knows that rabbits don't eat foxes!"
- 13. Rabbit: "Come with me and I'll show you!" They both disappear into the rabbit's burrow. After few minutes, gnawing on a fox bone, the rabbit returns to his typewriter and resumes typing. Soon a wolf comes along and stops to watch the hardworking rabbit.
- 14. Wolf: "What's that you are writing?" Rabbit: "I'm doing a thesis on how rabbits eat wolves." Wolf: "you don't expect to get such rubbish published, do you?" Rabbit: "No problem. Do you want to see why?" The rabbit and the wolf go into the burrow and again the rabbit returns by himself, after a few minutes, and goes back to typing.
- 15. Finally a bear comes along and asks, "What are you doing? Rabbit: "I'm doing a thesis on how rabbits eat bears." Bear: "Well that's absurd ! " Rabbit: "Come into my home and I'll show you"
- 16. Scene : As they enter the burrow, the rabbit introduces the bear to the lion.
- 17. Moral: IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW SILLY YOUR THESIS TOPIC IS; WHAT MATTERS IS WHOM YOU HAVE AS A SUPERVISOR.
