8. Specific Example
We are currently working with one of the big four
Audit Firms to address the following:
•News Aggregation Platform
Background - Producing a number of publications for
Financial Services, Public Sector and Technology, Media
and Information industries
9. Specific Example
Objective - Central repository for resources and articles to be used in
the publication process, as well as automating as many of the
mundane tasks currently required as possible.
Key Issues and Features Covered –
•Client subscribers prefer to receive newsletters in a PDF or magazine
edition format – i.e. fixed format and not as a website.
•Both PDF versions and online e-zine versions (PC and Tablets)
•Each edition must output as a single publication containing the entire
edition.
•Tablet version must have page-flip functionality and cater both for
Portrait and Landscape orientation.
10. Specific Example
• Writing and editorial staff will be geographically
dispersed, hence the need for well defined
repository of articles and resources (Collaborative).
• The evolution of the article needs to be tracked from
draft through to final versions (Document Tracking).
• The same article may appear in more than one
publication and may be worded differently for each
publication. Linked per evolutionary history of the
article concerned (Multi-Channel).
11. Specific Example
• Each article must be tagged according to the
author, editorial approver, date submitted and date
approved (Versioning).
• The system must include access control based on
user being assigned roles.
• Select editorial staff must be able to create
additional article and publication templates.
• Distribution Process Flow after publication is
approved for release (Workflow).
