This document discusses the methodology of econometrics. It begins by defining econometrics as applying economic theory, mathematics and statistical inference to analyze economic phenomena. It then outlines the typical steps in an econometric analysis: 1) stating an economic theory or hypothesis, 2) specifying a mathematical model, 3) specifying an econometric model, 4) collecting data, 5) estimating parameters, 6) hypothesis testing, 7) forecasting, and 8) using the model for policy purposes. As an example, it walks through Keynes' consumption theory using U.S. consumption and GDP data to estimate the marginal propensity to consume.

How Race, Age and Gender Shape Attitudes Towards Mental HealthThinkNow
Mental health has been in the news quite a bit lately. Dozens of U.S. states are currently suing Meta for contributing to the youth mental health crisis by inserting addictive features into their products, while the U.S. Surgeon General is touring the nation to bring awareness to the growing epidemic of loneliness and isolation. The country has endured periods of low national morale, such as in the 1970s when high inflation and the energy crisis worsened public sentiment following the Vietnam War. The current mood, however, feels different. Gallup recently reported that national mental health is at an all-time low, with few bright spots to lift spirits.
To better understand how Americans are feeling and their attitudes towards mental health in general, ThinkNow conducted a nationally representative quantitative survey of 1,500 respondents and found some interesting differences among ethnic, age and gender groups.
Technology
For example, 52% agree that technology and social media have a negative impact on mental health, but when broken out by race, 61% of Whites felt technology had a negative effect, and only 48% of Hispanics thought it did.
While technology has helped us keep in touch with friends and family in faraway places, it appears to have degraded our ability to connect in person. Staying connected online is a double-edged sword since the same news feed that brings us pictures of the grandkids and fluffy kittens also feeds us news about the wars in Israel and Ukraine, the dysfunction in Washington, the latest mass shooting and the climate crisis.
Hispanics may have a built-in defense against the isolation technology breeds, owing to their large, multigenerational households, strong social support systems, and tendency to use social media to stay connected with relatives abroad.
Age and Gender
When asked how individuals rate their mental health, men rate it higher than women by 11 percentage points, and Baby Boomers rank it highest at 83%, saying it’s good or excellent vs. 57% of Gen Z saying the same.
Gen Z spends the most amount of time on social media, so the notion that social media negatively affects mental health appears to be correlated. Unfortunately, Gen Z is also the generation that’s least comfortable discussing mental health concerns with healthcare professionals. Only 40% of them state they’re comfortable discussing their issues with a professional compared to 60% of Millennials and 65% of Boomers.
Race Affects Attitudes
As seen in previous research conducted by ThinkNow, Asian Americans lag other groups when it comes to awareness of mental health issues. Twenty-four percent of Asian Americans believe that having a mental health issue is a sign of weakness compared to the 16% average for all groups. Asians are also considerably less likely to be aware of mental health services in their communities (42% vs. 55%) and most likely to seek out information on social media (51% vs. 35%).
AI Trends in Creative Operations 2024 by Artwork Flow.pdfmarketingartwork
Creative operations teams expect increased AI use in 2024. Currently, over half of tasks are not AI-enabled, but this is expected to decrease in the coming year. ChatGPT is the most popular AI tool currently. Business leaders are more actively exploring AI benefits than individual contributors. Most respondents do not believe AI will impact workforce size in 2024. However, some inhibitions still exist around AI accuracy and lack of understanding. Creatives primarily want to use AI to save time on mundane tasks and boost productivity.
Organizational culture includes values, norms, systems, symbols, language, assumptions, beliefs, and habits that influence employee behaviors and how people interpret those behaviors. It is important because culture can help or hinder a company's success. Some key aspects of Netflix's culture that help it achieve results include hiring smartly so every position has stars, focusing on attitude over just aptitude, and having a strict policy against peacocks, whiners, and jerks.

Google's Just Not That Into You: Understanding Core Updates & Search IntentLily Ray
1. Core updates from Google periodically change how its algorithms assess and rank websites and pages. This can impact rankings through shifts in user intent, site quality issues being caught up to, world events influencing queries, and overhauls to search like the E-A-T framework.
2. There are many possible user intents beyond just transactional, navigational and informational. Identifying intent shifts is important during core updates. Sites may need to optimize for new intents through different content types and sections.
3. Responding effectively to core updates requires analyzing "before and after" data to understand changes, identifying new intents or page types, and ensuring content matches appropriate intents across video, images, knowledge graphs and more.

2. the opportunities and challenges for international maketers of cunsumer goods and sevices today have
never been greater or more diverse.new consumers are springing up in emerging markets in eastern
europe, the commonwealth of independent states ,china and orther asian uontries, india, latin america –
in shrt, globally .althought some of these emerging markets have little purchasing power today,
theypromise to be huge markets in the future in the more matre markets of the industrialized world,
opportunity and challenge also abound as consumers tastes become more sophisticated and compex
and as in creases in purchasing power provide them with the means of satisfyin new demands.
As described in the global perspective ,disney is the archetypal american exporter for global consumer
markets.the distinction between products and services for such companies means little.Their DVD are
productwhereas cinema performances of the same mivices are services.consumers at the theme parks
(inculuding foreign tourists at dometic site pay around $40 to get in the gate ,but thay also spend about
the same amount on hats t-shirts,and meals while there.and the movies , of course, help sell the park
ticket and services has led to the invention of new terms emcompassing bith product and service such as
market offerings and bunsiness to cunsumer marketing.however the governmental agencies that keep
track of international trde still mailtainj the questionable product service distinction and thus so do we
in this chapter and the next.the reader should also note that when it comes to u.s exports targeting
consumer the total are about evenly split among the three major categories pf durable good (such as
cars and computers) nondurable goods (mainly good, drugs toys),and services (for example, tourism
and telecommunication)
Never haas the question “which products/sevices should we sell?” been more critical than it is today.for
the company with a dometicmarket extension orientation like ben & jerrys ice cream, the answer
generally is “whataver we are selling at home”.the companay with a multidometic market orientation
develops different products and sevices to fit the uniqueness of each country market, the global
companay ignores frontiers and seeks commonalties in needs among set of country markets and
responds with global market offerings
the trend for larger firms is toward becoming global in orientation and strategy. How ever product
adaptation is as important risk in a smaller firms marketing effort as it is for global companies.as
competion for world markets intensifies and a market prefer ences become more global selling what is
producted for the domestic market in the same manner as it is sold at home proves to be increasingly
less effective.some products cannot be sold at all in foreign markets without modification others may
be sold as is,but their acceptance is greatly enhanced when tailored specifically to market needs and
wants of consumer at an affordable price should be the goal of any marketing firm.
Global competition is placing new emphasis on some basic tenets of business it is shortening product
life cycles and fucusing on the importance of quality, competitive prices aand innovative products.the
power in the marketplace is shifting from a sellers to a custumers market and the latter have more
choices put more power in hands of the customer and that,of course, drive the need for quality.gone are
the days when the customers knowledge was limited to one or at best just a few disfferent
products.today the customer knows what is best, cheapest and highest quality.it is the customer who
3. defines quality in term of his or her needs and resources.for example cell phones that don’t roam don’t
sell
For example, philip kotler and kevin lene keller, marketing management 12th ed ( upper saddle river
NJ: prentice hall, 2002)
We hope that it is obvious thay many of the points we make regarding the development of consumer
products are pertinent to consumer services as well and vice vesa.of course some distinctions are still
substantive.these are fouse upon in the section of the chapter entitled markerting consumer services
globally
