This document provides guidance on controlling one's speech and speaking wisely. It discusses that wisdom is seeing life from God's perspective. It then discusses the benefits of wisdom, including long life, wealth, honor, pleasure, and security. It encourages getting wisdom by reading God's word, doing what it says, and getting to know God. The document then discusses mastering one's mouth by thinking before speaking, always speaking the truth, and speaking the truth in love. It provides Bible verses to support controlling one's speech and speaking truthfully and lovingly.

listen, The importance of listening, the level of listening Why can't you he...franktsao4
In this chapter, we will talk about listening from the world to listening to God's word, and at the same time point out what will happen if we don't listen to God's word. We list the reasons why we should listen, that is, we are in the world, and if we don't listen. Then, we will be personally unable to live in the world. And what kind of obstacles we have to listening to the world, only when we master the world's Listen. Only when we listen to God’s words , we can get the start we deserve, because God wants to hear far beyond the standards of the world. It’s not just listening with ears or heart, but the whole transformation of the whole person.

How to Reinvent Yourself with Tami GreenTami Green
Six steps on how to reinvent yourself, no matter what!
After a bitter and protracted custody battle, declining mental health and three subsequent suicide attempts, I was diagnosed with a serious mental illness.
Though fearful of the consequences of exposing myself, I decided I would turn my life around and help others who had suffered as I had.
The next few years were spent testifying to members of Congress, speaking at local support groups and at thought leader conferences to offer my support, hope and encouragement that recovery was possible.
My YouTube Channel grew to 700,000 views, I published six short books, one of which was translated into Japanese, and developed a certification training program for others who wanted to peer coach.
During this time, I was estranged from most of my five children. The pain of the separation pushed me even further to learn how to stay healthy. My goal was to be the very best mother I could be should they ever return to my care.
After many years, I was reconciled with all my children and got married. I gave birth to my son, Hunter, at the age of 48, and had my twin girls at the age of 50.
My story is a story of redemption and second chances and this workshop is about the nuts and bolts of what one can DO give themselves a fresh start and live a new, intentional life.
Thanks for stopping by!
With love, Tami
These slides were used during a Family Camp at Mt. Carmel Ministries in Minnesota. We explored how to overcome the stigma of mental health and journey with God through the challenges of Anxiety, Anger, Depression, Grief, and Joy. The content was first presented as a sermon series at Easter Lutheran Church, Eagan, MN. www.easter.org.
It happens to the best of us. It's been a part of each one of my startups, and my guess is that it happens to us all in various degrees. The goal here is to be cathartic, to help us realize that its real, that it happens to each of us, and how we can cope well until we swing out of the roughest parts.
I'll be sharing a great deal from my personal experiences with depression, startups, tech, highs/lows, and some insights from the journey. This isn't a talk from someone on the other side (if that exists) but someone who is very much changing the world from where I am. I believe you can do the same.
My hope for this talk is that we can understand we're not alone, find encouragement, and get a few tools to help along the way.
Extended Bio
I earned a business/psychology degree (called service management), and my masters was in divinity (with a course load in counseling/psychology/systems). I've also worked with many people over the years in various stages of life (parents, students, hospice, homeless). I'm not a psychologist (I run a software company) and would gladly recommend people if needed.
2015 is here with us. Let’s make all the tough decisions by involving God in those decisions. He holds our future in His hands. We will not go wrong at all. His will for our lives will be accomplished in 2015.

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…

2. Proverbs 4:7-8 (GN) "Getting
wisdom is the most important
thing you can do. Whatever else
you get, get insight! Love
wisdom and she will make you
great!"
3. 1. What is it?
• Wisdom: Seeing and responding
to life from GOD’S
PERSPECTIVE
• "There is a way that seems
right to a man but in the end it
leads to death." Pr. 14:12
4. • Wealth. How would you like to have God as your
financial planner? We're going to look at the five
foundations for financial freedom. They're in the
book of Proverbs.
• Honor. How does wisdom bring honor? You don't
put your foot in your mouth as often. And you
know the right thing to do in every situation.
• Pleasure. Living according to God's wisdom
makes life easier. Most of the problems you have
in your life you bring on yourself from dumb
decisions. When you're wise it eliminates a lot of
the problems that you normally bring on your life.
Life gets easier when you're wise.
• Security. It will make your life safe. Wisdom gives
a sense of security and self confidence and peace
of mind. All of a sudden you're in control of the
situation. You're not a reactor but an actor.
Things don't control you but you control things
when you're wise.
5. 2. What will it do for me?
• "Wisdom is more valuable than
precious jewels; nothing you could
want can compare with it. Wisdom
offers you long life, wealth and
honor. (It) can make your life
pleasant and lead you safely
through it. Those who become
wise are happy." Pr. 3:16-18 (GN)
6. Six Benefits
• Long Life - when you're wise it reduces the
stress in your life.
• Wealth- How would you like to have God as
your financial planner?
• Honor - How does wisdom bring honor?
• Pleasure - Life gets easier when you're wise.
• Security - It will make your life safe.
• Happiness - Those who become wise will be
happy.
7. 3. How can I get it?
1. Read God's word.
"(Solomon) wrote
these Proverbs to
teach his people how
to live -- how to act in
every circumstance."
Pr. 1:2 (LB)
"They can teach
you how to live
intelligently..." Pr. 1:3
8.
9.
10.
11.
12.
13. 2. You do what it says.
". . . Never forget what I tell you to do.
Do what I say, and you will live. Be
careful to follow it. . ." Pr. 7:1-2 (GN)
14.
15. • 3. I get to know God.
• "How does a person become wise?
The first step is to trust and revere the
Lord." Pr. 1:7 (LB)
• "For the reverence and fear of God are
basic to all wisdom. Knowing God results
in every other kind of understanding." Pr.
9:10 (LB)
16.
17.
18. A man from Angola
has been officially
recognised as having
the widest mouth in
the world in one of the
weirdest Guinness
World Records.
Francisco Domingo
Joaquim’s mouth
measures a whopping
six and a half inches
across, which is big
enough for him to fit
an entire can of coke
in his mouth –
sideways.
Chiquinho has
described featuring in
the Book of Guinness
World Records 2011
22. The average man speaks
enough words in one year to
fill 66 books, 800 pages
long. He speaks 20,000
words a day. The average
woman 30,000 words a day.
23. 1. THINK before you speak.
• "Intelligent people think before they speak.
What they say is then more persuasive." Pr.
16:23 (GN)
• "You will have to live with the consequences
of everything you say." Pr. 18:20 (GN)
• "It is a trap for a man to dedicate something
rashly and only later to consider his vows."
Pr. 20:25
24. • You have to live with the
consequences of what
you say. The Bible says,
"Death and life are in the
power of the tongue."
26. Proverbs deals with a lot of
kinds of dishonesty -- lying
and deceit and
exaggeration. I want to talk
with you about the failure to
be frank with people. Isn't
that a form of dishonesty?
When you don't really tell
people the truth?
27. In theory you would all
agree that HONEST IS
THE BEST POLICY. But
in practice it often
works out very
different.
28. • "Someone who holds back the
truth causes trouble."
Proverbs 10:10 (GN)
• "An honest answer is the sign
of a true friendship." Pr. 24:26
(GN)
• "In the end, people appreciate
frankness more than flattery."
Pr. 28:23 (LB)
29. 3. Speak the truth IN LOVE
• “Thoughtless words can wound as
deeply as any sword, but wisely
spoken words can heal." Pr. 12:18
(GN)
32. • Managers – tell the truth to your
subordinates
• Subordinates – tell the truth to
your boss
• Parents – correct your children
with love
• Leaders – tell the truth
• Being frank means you love them
33. • "A word of encouragement does
wonders!" Pr. 12:25 (LB)
34. Teenage Suicide Statistics
• Suicide brings emotional devastation to children,
grandchildren, parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins,
grandparents and friends of the victim. These survivors
are not included in the teenage suicide statistics that are
available to us. • Teenage suicide statistics are a part of
these numbers:
rates for ages 15-24 in the United States are 7.9 per
100,000.
• • 31,000 suicides a year in the U.S., the 3rd leading
cause of death in people 15 – 24 years old, and the 11th
leading cause over all age groups[4].
• • Worldwide, nearly a million people commit suicide
every year, more than those murdered or killed in war.[1]
• • Global annual teenage suicide statistics, reported for
these fatalities could rise to 1.5 million by 2020.
35. • The story of a pastor visiting the hospital of a
coma patient. Being in a hospital room with a wife
and doctor and a man who had been in a coma for
several months. The doctor said to the wife, "He's
never going to come out of it. It's hopeless." And
he walked out of the room. The pastor walked
over to the man in a coma, got close to his face
and said, "John, I know you've heard what the
doctor said. But he's wrong. You are going to
make it. You're going to come out of this coma. I
don't care what the doctor said, you are going to
make it!" Tears began to well up in the sides of
the man's eyes and run down his cheeks. The
man did recover and is active in a church today.
He said the turning point in his recovery were
those loving words, "You're going to make it!" All
of a sudden I wanted to live, he said. "Gentle
words cause life and health."
