Wind power production in the Liguria region of Italy has increased over time. Data from 25 monitoring stations over 6.5 years showed that only 4 sites seemed suitable for energy production due to wind potential. However, due to environmental protections, only one site was deemed able to effectively exploit its stable wind potential. Additionally, the energy produced from three wind turbines in Stella San Martino, Savona is sold to British Petroleum and helps power homes in Britain, despite being generated in Italy.
