Carlota’s column
2015 is almost here and we are about to unveil our public programs for the next year.
While we were preparing our programs throughout the past months, our major focus was to establish the
most revolutionary themes and discover the most impactful doers and thinkers who would be capable of
inspiring leaders and organizations to act and thrive in the peculiar context and age in which we live.
We will start our year with Happy Conference, to be held on March 18. For the 2015’s edition, we will bring
to you the most updated research on how our brains work and how success changes the chemistry of our
brains, making us more focused, more confident and ultimately smarter, creating the conditions for even
greater accomplishments to follow. You will discover how to develop this winning mindset that makes of
success a virtuous cycle and also how to promote it individually, with your team and across your company.

In April 14 it is time for Porto Business School Leadership Grand Conference, the incredible conference that
gets together more than 1000 Portuguese leaders for an unforgettable half day program on leadership. This
year, we find it crucial to deconstruct the notion of what leadership is. Undeniably, it is time to see leadership
with eyes anew. It is time to learn from unexpected leaders that rise in unexpected situations. It is time to
be inspired by those that challenge the status quo and leave a legacy. To sum up, it is time to provoke the
renaissance of leadership – making it truly effective and adjusted to the times we live in.
This is why Porto Business School Leadership Grand Conference will bring to you some of the most
impactful context builders and opportunities creators, who don’t wait for the right circumstances to act upon.
Instead, they create their own contexts and build truly winning ecosystems. Examples of leaders who are
fast, audacious, creative and have the grit to pursue ambitious goals. And let us not forget the generosity
and kindness that must come with leadership, the will to serve others without expecting anything in return,
as these are truly powerful traits when it comes to leadership, allowing individuals to affiliate with each other
and work in teams for a higher purpose and create a legacy that lasts in time.
And, finally, on September 30, Global Corporations Conference takes place. Every day new borders
disappear and the world becomes more and more global. The economy changes, the political
circumstances shift, new technologies arise, and numerous new markets appear on the horizon. To deal
with all these shifts, it is required that companies are always updated on three fundamental dimensions:
global economy, global businesses and global leadership. Furthermore, it is especially important that
companies and leaders become agile regarding their strategy and their choices. This is why this year’s
edition will be especially dedicated to strategic agility - the capability which allows companies to thrive in the
face of swift changes that happen unceasingly. After all, operating in a market of 7 billion people requires
preparation and to know how to take strategy beyond borders.
We would like to challenge you to start 2015 with a strong and powerful commitment: to promote individual
and collective growth and make of your company a winning ecosystem. Will you dare to do it?
Prepare yourself for 2015. Save these dates in your agenda.
