Colombia has had success at the 2016 Rio Olympics so far. Oscar Figueroa, Caterine Ibarguen, and Mariana Pajón have each won gold medals in their events. Yuberjén Martinez and Yuri Alvear won silver medals in boxing and judo, respectively. Ingrid Valencia and Carlos Ramírez earned bronze medals in boxing and BMX cycling. While not all Colombian athletes have medaled, qualifying for the Olympics means they are among the best in their sports. Colombia hopes its athletes can earn more medals to surpass the eight total medals from the 2012 London Olympics.
