2. The Wi-Fi Performance Challenge
The extraordinary
proliferation of home
Wi-Fi® technology opens
vast new opportunities
for network service
providers (NSPs). But
it also creates huge
potential headaches
for operators and
their customers.
Today, despite the evolution
in IEEE WLAN standards,
home Wi-Fi issues have
become the number one
helpdesk problem for
every ISP.
Home Wi-Fi
problems represent a
significant threat to every
NSP’s bottom line. They
contribute to
skyrocketing helpdesk costs
and generate customer
dissatisfaction, resulting in
higher churn rates.
In fact, an analysis of
actual operator helpdesk
logs and technical blogs
shows that the greater
the number of users on
a given wireless highway,
the worse the user
experience.

3. Wi-Fi Doctor Cures
Sick Networks
Wi-Fi Doctor works just like a physician to
help keep home Wi-Fi networks healthy.
This unique toolkit from Technicolor
provides a comprehensive network
check-up, produces a detailed diagnosis,
prescribes a cure and keeps network health
records for future reference.
Most WLAN troubleshooting tools
indicate no more than signal strength
or network usage. Wi-Fi Doctor helps
NSPs deliver a superior user experience
by helping to actually solve network
performance issues. That
translates into higher customer
loyalty and brand satisfaction,
reduced customer calls for help
and lower helpdesk costs.
By helping to cure Wi-Fi issues in
a quick, simple, straightforward
way, Wi-Fi Doctor helps NSPs
meet the Wi-Fi performance
challenge.
Features at a Glance
■ Measures Wi-Fi performance at any location
■ Identifies problem spots
■ Solves detected problems

4. Wi-Fi Doctor’s consumer diagnostic tool enables end-users to
fix Wi-Fi issues easily, with no technical background. That means
higher subscriber satisfaction, lower churn, and fewer calls to the
helpdesk.
Wi-Fi Doctor Consumer App:
Customers Solve their Own Problems
Downloadable on any Wi-Fi client (STA) device from common app stores, the app
offers three flows:
■ Check my Wi-Fi provides a quick Wi-Fi link test, generating a link
performance score and enabling the end-user to obtain more details if needed;
■ Optimize my Wi-Fi enables optimization of the Wi-Fi performance of an
entire wireless LAN. The end user can prioritize the order of importance
for improving the Wi-Fi performance of selected devices;
■ Map my Wi-Fi enables the end user to map home Wi-Fi performance.
Users can check wireless link quality for any connected device running the
Wi-Fi Doctor app at listed locations and can also store data to analyze
performance at a given test location over time.
5. Wi-Fi Doctor Operator Toolkit:
Pinpoint and Resolve Issues in a Jiffy
Helpdesk technicians diagnose and resolve Wi-Fi network problems more quickly and easily
thanks to the Wi-Fi Doctor toolkit for service providers. It helps keep customers happy and
reduces helpdesk costs.
Interacting with NSP service flows, the toolkit for network operators includes:
■ A valuable installer tool, running on installation engineers’ client devices that investigates
and diagnoses all Wi-Fi links on all channels to ensure optimal configuration.
This smart field app also collects data for future consultation.
■ A backend tool that provides such additional functions as passive monitoring, historical data storage,
root cause analysis, self-learning and more.
To enable helpdesk analysis and test triggering, this powerful tool exports actual data from customer
WLANs to helpdesk servers.
6. Home & Remote Wi-Fi
Network Healthcare
An invaluable component in a
distributed application running on
a gateway, Wi-Fi Doctor plays a
vital role by making performance
measurements from both ends of
a wireless link and measuring key
parameters to determine critical
wireless driver values.
The Wi-Fi Doctor gateway app must
be combined with either the client
application (i.e.
consumer and/
or installer tool)
or the backend,
or both.
7. Qeo Makes It Happen
Wi-Fi Doctor can run on any Wi-Fi device
(gateway, smartphone, tablet, etc.)
supporting Android 2.3 & higher or
iOS 7 & higher, and talking Qeo,
the revolutionary distributed
communication framework
by technicolor. The client
apps (consumer app and
installer tool) as well as
the gateway app are built
around Qeo. Based upon the
publish/subscribe principle,
Qeo enables all devices and components
to communicate with one another by
publishing their data in the Qeo cloud.
Qeo is included in the Wi-
Fi Doctor client app and is
present on the gateway via
Wi-Fi Doctor gateway
software. The Wi-Fi Doctor
app monitors, interprets
and displays info published
on Qeo by various LAN-
connected Wi-Fi devices.
