Why not 2nd Cycle?
What problem do I want to solve:
– It is difficult to identify vintage items
– It is difficult to know the value of a vintage item
and
– Buying vintage is intimidating
How will I solve it:
– Provide a social place where I can browse vintage products and their description
How can I make it Social:
- Crowd-sourced information
- Introduce social and community features
How can I monetize it:
- ”Sell one like this” function
- ”Buy one like this” function
Why not 2nd Cycle?
Why is this different from Ebay and online stores
- Online auctions and stores don’t keep record of all the products they have listed
- Their goal is to sell, not record information
- There is very little community around those as it is a make-money/make-good-deal
competitive environment.
- Why not 2nd Cycle? is focusing on generating a database with 1 product page per
unique reference.
- The primary goal of Why not 2nd Cyle? is to discover products.
Why is this different from discusion forums
– Dicussion forums don’t organise products and informations in an searchable manner.
– Dicussion forums don’t link related information toguether
– Why not 2nd Cycle? Focuses on finding a specific product, then adding information and
discussion around this product.
