2. WPI April 2014 Review
The Wholesale Price Index for ‘All Commodities’ (Base: 2004-05 = 100) for
April 2014 rose by 0.20% to 180.2 from 179.8 for March 2014.
The Annual Rate of Inflation stood at 5.20% (Y-o-Y) for the month of April 2014
as compared to 5.70% for the previous month and 4.77% during the
corresponding month of the previous year.
 ‘PRIMARY ARTICLES’ group rose by 0.96% (M-o-M) and 7.06% (Y-o-Y).
 `Food Articles` group rose by 1.49% (M-o-M) and 8.64% (Y-o-Y).
 `Non-Food Articles` group declined by -0.41% (M-o-M) and moved up by
3.15% (Y-o-Y).
 `Minerals` group declined by -0.03% (M-o-M) and moved up by
4.40% (Y-o-Y).
 `Crude Petroleum` moved up by 0.62% (M-o-M) and 17.19% (Y-o-Y).
 ‘FUEL & POWER’ group declined by -0.99% (M-o-M) and moved up
8.93% (Y-o-Y).
 ‘MANUFACTURED PRODUCTS’ rose by 0.20% (M-o-M) and 3.15% (Y-o-Y).
The final Wholesale Price Index for the month of February 2014, for ‘All
Commodities’ (Base: 2004-05=100) stood at 179.5 as compared to 178.9 and
Annual rate of Inflation based on final Index stood at 5.03 % as compared to
4.68 % respectively as reported on 14.03.2014.
