I Kings 17: 1- 7
17:1 And Elijah the Tishbite, who
was of the inhabitants of Gilead,
said unto Ahab, As the LORD
God of Israel liveth, before whom
I stand, there shall not be dew
nor rain these years, but
according to my word.
2 And the word of the LORD came
unto him, saying,
3 Get thee hence, and turn thee
eastward, and hide thyself by the
brook Cherith, that is before
Jordan.
4 And it shall be, that thou shalt
drink of the brook; and I have
commanded the ravens to feed thee
there.
5 So he went and did according
unto the word of the LORD: for he
went and dwelt by the brook
Cherith, that is before Jordan.
6 And the ravens brought him
bread and flesh in the morning, and
bread and flesh in the evening; and
he drank of the brook.
7 And it came to
pass after a while,
that the brook
dried up, because
there had been no
rain in the land.
“It is a great testing when we
are where God tells us to be,
then the brook dries up”
“It is a painful experience
when we are walking in
disobedience, then the
brook dries up”
“It is easier to trust God when the
brook is full than when it dries up”
“Satan becomes very active when the brook began
to dry up”
“When we trust in other things
instead of God, He frequently
takes those things from us that
we might learn to trust Him”.
“When our wisdom is
exhausted…. God is still on
the throne and He knows
what to do”
“God had devised a plan of
providing Elijah and when
he is through with that plan,
He will devise another way”
(Prov 3:5 KJV) Trust in the
LORD with all thine heart;
and lean not unto thine
own understanding.
(Prov 3:6 KJV) In all thy ways
acknowledge him, and he
shall direct thy paths.
“Let the sad circumstances
in your life drive you closer
to the Lord and they will
prove to be a blessing”
(1 Ki 17:8 KJV) And the word of
the LORD came unto him, saying,
(1 Ki 17:9 KJV) Arise, get thee to
Zarephath, which belongeth to
Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I
have commanded a widow
woman there to sustain thee.
“God has taken care of you
in the days gone by and He
will take care of you”
(Mat 11:28 KJV) Come unto me,
all ye that labour and are heavy
laden, and I will give you rest.
Do you have a burden tonight?
