Snickers was a 12-week old German shepherd mix puppy that the author adopted from Petsmart. The puppy was skinny and cute with brown and black fur. The author and her sisters played with the puppy and she gave them kisses, but then got scared and peed. The Petsmart worker said the puppy would be put down that day if not adopted. The author's mom then decided to adopt the puppy. They bought supplies and brought her home, where she slept for 6 hours and wouldn't come out of her cage at first. Now at 6 months, the puppy is doing well and the author is still glad they adopted her.
1. When I Got My Puppy
By Tessa Muench
I got my puppy, snickers, when she was 12 weeks old. This was my first
puppy so I was really exited. The petsmart worker told me she was a
German shepherd mix. We went to the pet store to originally look for kittens
to adopt but then we saw an adorable puppy. She was brown and black so
we thought snickers would be a good name for her.
She was sitting in that little cage with her puppy dog eyes and she was so
skinny. “Awe!” I thought, this is the cutest puppy ever! My sisters and I took
her in a little room in Petsmart and she was so sweet. She gave me about a
1000 kisses but then she got scared and peed. The petsmart worker told me
that she would have to be put down that day if she did not get adopted
because they couldn’t keep her any longer
.
Then my mom said,” lets get this little cutie.” So my mom signed all the
papers which took half an hour. Then she was finally ours. The petsmart
lady said she could not touch the floor because there were lots of germs and
we did not want her sick. So I got the job of carrying her while we getting all
the necessities. We got her a food bowl, water bowl, a big bag of food, leash,
collar, and a cage.
when we got home we gave her 2 cups of food and she slept for 6 hours.
She would not come out of her cage. I got very worried that she would never
come out of her cage so I tried to pull her out and she wined and screamed
so I decided to let her come out when she wanted. now she is about 6
months old and I am still glad we got her.
