Building a strong digital culture can feel like an impossible endeavor. How do we create virtual workplaces with a shared sense of values? How do we sustain mentorship relationships and strengthen information sharing protocols? Without a good framework in place, it’s extremely unlikely that a team can build a hybrid culture, let alone a completely remote workplace. To leverage remote work, every organization must employ tried-and-true precepts.
Command Centers: Social Listening in PracticeBrandwatch
For socially savvy brands, the command center is often an integral part of understanding and connecting with their online audience. However, many have not fully capitalized on the technology’s capabilities.
The following guide outlines the command center’s role in engagement, customer service, crisis management, real-time marketing, regional benchmarking, competitive benchmarking and internal social awareness.
Additionally, we take an in-depth look at the qualities that make one command center more powerful than another.
There is a lot of confusion surrounding command centers – we aim to clear that up.

What remedies should we seek for organizations which cannot learn, adapt and create? Most leaders imagine it to be something they lack, and add chief officers, innovation labs and digital business units to their companies. The better strategy is to remove things that already exist—impediments to the behaviors that sustain innovation, growth and a culture of continuous improvement.
The dark side of enterprise silos may the fusion be with you v 2.0Freddie McMahon
This paper was originally produced as a contribution to the “Beyond Bureaucracy Challenge”, which was aimed at management innovators from around the world to share their most progressive practices and disruptive ideas around three goals:
● Making organizations more inspiring and engaging with everyone aligned by a deeply-felt sense of purpose to inspire and unleash imagination, initiative, and energy from every quarter.
● Developing an outside-in orientation that eliminates the gaps between “sense” and “respond”, to inject the voice of the customer and other relevant stakeholders into every decision, and to make the insights and observations of every individual—from edge to edge—matter.
● Managing without managers to reduce the performance drag of top-heavy management structures, replace “manager-management” with a more agile self- and peer-management, and replace rigid hierarchy with a vibrant social system.
Many of us have experienced the frustrations of working inside organisations: the lack of inspiration and engagement; the widening gap between sensing early and responding quickly; and the constraints of top-heavy management structures and administration. The impact of these frustrations has created unprecedented stress to individuals, whilst suppressing competitive and innovative growth, which creates even further stress to us all. The arch-enemy to the democratisation of the organisation is the enterprise silos that protect all those that do not want transparency or are simply too afraid to adapt. The pent up frustrations of so many people is ready to vent against the dark side of silos. Such an emotive outburst en masse when combined with the emerging shift towards the Social Enterprise, being advocated by leading cloud players, could lead to more change to the enterprise in the next five years compared to the past thirty years.
Businesses CAN’T afford to have disengaged employees! According to Gallup, a disengaged employee costs a company 34% of their total annual salary. On aggregate 17.2% of a workforce is disengaged.
Since the Dotcom boom of the 90’s, companies have been trying to obtain high standards of employee satisfaction through: company perks, wellness incentives and even subsidized food plans to satisfy the foodies.
Has any of these strategies really helped with employee engagement? How do organizations get their employees engaged and find their swagger?
Employee engagement is very tied to the MAGIC of the company. To capture the magic, employees must have five key elements to help them become successful.
In the MAGIC of Employee Engagement white paper, it'll will break down each element and map out the benefits of each one.

In 2013, the global food chain, McDonald’s, addressed concerns for increasing complaints about their customer service. Forbes was quick to cover the fast-food powerhouse’s admission to issues on their frontline. To investigate the driving force behind the increasing poor service and to provide possible solutions, contributing authors highlighted organizations well-known for their impeccable service records.1 Time and again, media attention is directed toward Ritz-Carlton, with accounts of its outstanding service efforts made by individual employees, such as a maid replacing personal toiletries without the guest even having to ask. How is it that the Ritz is able to motivate their frontline to carry out this mission of service excellence, while other multinational organizations, like McDonald’s, still face hurdles in reaching the goal of high-quality customer service?

First Steps with Globus Compute Multi-User EndpointsGlobus
In this presentation we will share our experiences around getting started with the Globus Compute multi-user endpoint. Working with the Pharmacology group at the University of Auckland, we have previously written an application using Globus Compute that can offload computationally expensive steps in the researcher's workflows, which they wish to manage from their familiar Windows environments, onto the NeSI (New Zealand eScience Infrastructure) cluster. Some of the challenges we have encountered were that each researcher had to set up and manage their own single-user globus compute endpoint and that the workloads had varying resource requirements (CPUs, memory and wall time) between different runs. We hope that the multi-user endpoint will help to address these challenges and share an update on our progress here.

In software engineering, the right architecture is essential for robust, scalable platforms. Wix has undergone a pivotal shift from event sourcing to a CRUD-based model for its microservices. This talk will chart the course of this pivotal journey.
Event sourcing, which records state changes as immutable events, provided robust auditing and "time travel" debugging for Wix Stores' microservices. Despite its benefits, the complexity it introduced in state management slowed development. Wix responded by adopting a simpler, unified CRUD model. This talk will explore the challenges of event sourcing and the advantages of Wix's new "CRUD on steroids" approach, which streamlines API integration and domain event management while preserving data integrity and system resilience.
Participants will gain valuable insights into Wix's strategies for ensuring atomicity in database updates and event production, as well as caching, materialization, and performance optimization techniques within a distributed system.
Join us to discover how Wix has mastered the art of balancing simplicity and extensibility, and learn how the re-adoption of the modest CRUD has turbocharged their development velocity, resilience, and scalability in a high-growth environment.
2. Why Should you be using a
collaboration platform in your
Enterprise?
3. Use case #1
When you have Insecure
Managers!
Managers who are not confident enough would never want their
subordinates to reach out to senior management . They are critical
of their subordinates' initiative. Such managers would resist change
and would be against an open culture.
4. Use Case#2
When you have True
Leaders
if you have true visionary leaders , they would want to
create more leaders. In such a case a collaborative culture
is a must.
5. Use case#3
When you have a Dispersed Team
Travel and lodging cost of face to face interaction of dispersed
teams can become extremely expensive. Creating a virtual team
space with the help of a collaboration platform would mean
cutting down on the travel related expenses.
6. When the C -Suite wants a sneak peak
of the Enterprise
A collaborative platform becomes the dashboard for executives
and gives them the
real pulse of the enterprise. it breaks down red tape and
enhances transparency.
Use Case#4
7. When The Employee Engagement is
Low.
Use Case#5
A collaborative platform comes to the rescue by meaningfully
engaging employees
thereby increasing productivity. Social Recognition boosts
Motivation.
Transparency and connectedness make employees feel part of
the bigger picture
