Falls were the leading cause of residential construction deaths from 2003-2008 according to data from Region V. Roof falls and falls from ladders were among the most common types of falls. Struck by incidents such as falling objects and electrocutions were also significant causes of deaths. Common violations included lack of fall protection such as guardrails or slide guards, improper use of ladders and scaffolds, and failure to use personal protective equipment like hard hats. Establishing better safety programs, training, and fall protection measures were recommended to reduce residential construction deaths and injuries.

The document discusses deck safety and recommends regular inspections. Improper installation can result in accidents from unstable or collapsing decks. Decks should be securely attached with metal hardware rather than nails or screws to ensure stability. Over time, metal connectors and wood can corrode or rot, compromising the deck's structure. Signs like wide gaps between the deck and house, sagging boards, or cracked wood may indicate needed repairs. The company offers free deck inspections and will present on deck safety at a home expo on January 24th to help homeowners identify and address potential issues.
We also realize it is time to get things packed up and put away until the spring. That is why this month we are looking at some tips for you to get in order this fall so you can enjoy the time.

The document provides a long list of potential hazards to look for, such as loose carpet, slippery surfaces, frayed electrical cords, and more. It suggests ways to fix each hazard, such as applying non-slip coatings, fitting safety gates and plugs, and consulting an expert if unsure.
This document provides 10 tips for summer roof maintenance, including checking the roof from the ground for issues, inspecting eaves and gutters for water damage, cleaning around skylights and gutters, ensuring gutters are stable, checking the attic for mold or animals, inspecting items protruding from the roof, being aware of potential mold growth, taking photos during inspections to compare for changes, and offering a free roof inspection by calling their number.

Laminate flooring has several pros: it is extremely easy to install using a click-lock system; its surface is durable and scratch resistant; it does not have imperfections like real wood; and it is suitable for damp areas and easy to clean. However, it also has cons: it is not actually made of real wood; it feels hard underfoot; it can be slippery; it has a lower resale value than hardwood; and it cannot be refinished or sanded if damaged. The document provides an overview of the pros and cons of laminate flooring for homeowners to make an informed decision.

LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like

Changes in vegetation cover refer to variations in the distribution, composition, and overall
structure of plant communities across different temporal and spatial scales. These changes can
occur natural.

What to Look for After a Storm
Winter is here, and while the chances of a
severe storm are minimal, it is something we
all have to be aware of and prepare for.
Should a storm hit, there is a strong chance
you will have some damage of some sort to
your roof. Under no circumstances should you
attempt to climb on the roof without
appropriate safety gear or training. Even if
the storm has passed, there is still a chance
of serious injury. Follow our instructions
instead.
Inspection
As soon as it is safe enough to go outside, stand where you can see the roof. Take notes
of anything that you may see as potential damage. If you have a small ladder, and
again, if it is safe, get a closer look at what damage is there. Take pictures if you can as
this will help us get an idea before we come out to inspect ourselves.
Shingle Damage
While shingle damage will be obvious, it still deserves a closer look. Here are the top
things to note.
• Missing shingles or large sections of missing shingles. These will be obvious, but
there may be more than one location, so be sure to check the entire roof.
• Damaged shingles are a bit harder to notice. Look for missing colored portions on
each shingle.
• Cracks and bubbling are signs of potential water damage. If a freeze warning is in
effect or on the way, taking care of these issues is paramount.

Check both sides of the roof
The outside of the roof is only one part to check. Go into the attic and see what damage
is there.
• Water streaks – This is the most common element to look for;
• Mold and mildew – Even in the winter, mold and mildew can grow;
• Rusted nails and metal – This will be obvious but may be hard to see.
Whatever you do, please do not attempt any repairs on your own. Call us at Drew's
Roofing and Home Repair for help. Climbing on a roof is dangerous. Climbing on a roof
in the winter without training or gear could lead to serious injury. Thanks for a great
2016, and we look forward to working with you in 2017.
