2. • 9.2 billion tons of plastic are estimated to have been made
between 1950 and 2017.
• More than half of this plastic has been produced since 2004.
• In 2020, 400 million tons of plastic were produced.
• If global plastic demand continues, it is estimated that by 2050
annual global plastic production will reach 1,100 million tons.
Pakistan lacks an efficient waste treatment system,
particularly for plastic.
Furthermore, people are unaware of the link between
plastic waste disposal methods and the problems that
occur.
Waste upcycling can aid in environmental protection.
3. OUR IDEA
Our #Amalproject focuses on raising awareness of the value of upcycling by
using solid household waste, mainly plastic, to create something artistic.
It also illustrates the creativity and talent that can be used to create
something from solid household waste at home.
Using materials found around the house or in the community to create
creative items is known as upcycling.
