2. Introduction
• The main pollution in the world today is
made up of non-biodegradable
contaminants, which either never
disintegrate or do so extremely slowly.
• A notable example of non-biodegradable
pollution that persists on our planet for
many years and affects even future
generations is polythene contamination.
3. Environmental Artist
• "Natural Plasticity" was produced by Jana
Cruder and Matthew LaPenta as a large-
scale statement on the influence of
throwaway plastics in the environment
(Novakovic).
• The public art piece massively copies
single-use plastic cups and bottles and sets
them in urban and park locations to
inspire dialogue and reflection about our
interactions with these common objects.
4. Jana Cruder Perspectives
• These larger-than-life inflatable art
sculptures are a part of a traveling trash
series that aims to engage the public and
promote action via art (Novakovic).
• They are made of post-consumer plastic
and reflect one American consumer's
consumption of waste materials.
5. Concepts of Natural
Plasticity
• The artwork NATURAL
PLASTICITY by Jana Cruder and
Matthew LaPenta concepts are:
1. People to reflect on their personal
responsibilities (LaPenta).
2. Interactions with disposable plastics
and the environment.
6. The Artistic Meaning
• The exhibit makes the consequences of business
and consumer behavior around single-use
plastics visible (Admppc).
• Encouraging the audience to consider their own
use of plastic.
• According to the Artistic, we must first
transform the individual before we can change
what is produced and promoted.
7. Conclusion
• Jana Cruder and Matthew LaPenta, are two California-based
artists, saw similarities in the early stages of their distinct
multimedia processes and soon began to see how their
respective works interacted with one another (Admppc).
• The condition of humanity today and its effects on the
environment profoundly affect them.
• This creative concept is a fantastic method to educate the
public about the risks of plastic, which are frequently used to
package and transport items.
8. Part3: Sustainable Shopping Bag
• I suggest creating a sustainable shopping
bag that is appealing to the community
that will use it and is made from
sustainable materials (National
Geographic). .
• The goals of this project are to design,
create, decorate, and assess a sustainable
shopping bag using the production plan.
9. System Diagram
• I recommend drapery fabric, but
other medium weight fabrics such as
canvas, denim, or nylon pack cloth
can also be used.
• If you wish to use a lower weight
material for the lining, it's a good
idea to back it with a medium weight
fusible stabilizer.

Editor's Notes
Plastic syringes, polythene bags, medicine bottles, pesticide containers, and other items like these are the main contributors to polythene pollution.
Plastic has had a highly negative impact on human health and life during the past ten years.
There have been a few incidences that have captured the attention of the entire globe and raised concerns about the usage of plastic in daily life. Our health and well-being, as well as the ecosystem, have been damaged by polythene contamination. As a result of our collective involvement in the issue, it is now our duty to take action to lessen and finally eliminate plastic pollution.
Large-scale, inflated sculptures made of post-consumer plastic are the work of Californian artists Jana Cruder and Matthew LaPenta. The piece of art is titled "Natural Plasticity" by Jana Cruder and Mathew. The exhibit "NATURAL PLASTICITY" by artists Jana Cruder and Matthew LaPenta challenges spectators to reflect on their personal responsibilities and interactions with single-use plastics and the environment.
The project can shift places over the course of many days by utilizing inflatables to move throughout a city or other geographic region. Interacting with our natural surroundings in a manner that is similar to plastics.
"Natural Plasticity" was developed in partnership with the Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks as part of W.A.V.E.S (World Art Vision for Environmental Sustainability), a public art collaboration between the Do Art Foundation, the RVCC, and Shark Allies. The W.A.V.E.S initiative has created the first in a series of public artworks addressing environmental challenges.
W.A.V.E.S. is an initiative that commissions, creates, and curates public artworks that emphasize and encourage environmental sustainability. "Natural Plasticity" examines the items that are created and promoted in order to address the influence that corporate—as well as consumer—behavior has on the earth, and challenges us to commit to conscious rather than thoughtless consumerism.
The artwork NATURAL PLASTICITY by Jana Cruder and Matthew LaPenta invites spectators to reflect on their personal responsibilities and interactions with throwaway plastics and the environment (Novakovic).. The title refers to an organism's adaptation to changes in its environment or variations between its numerous habitats produced by unnatural additions; the shifting of our natural environment as a result of the influence of throwaway plastic. Looking back at the consequences of using throwaway plastic.
These larger-than-life inflatable art sculptures, made of post-consumer plastic and representing a single American consumer's consumption of waste materials, are part of a touring series of garbage intended at attracting public involvement and inspiring action via art.Working using inflatables allows the project to move throughout a city or geographical area over the course of many days. Plastics interact with our natural surroundings in the same manner.
In order to change consumer behavior for the better, they have chosen to place 20- to 30-foot-tall replicas of plastic bottles, throwaway cups, and straws in both indoor and outdoor settings. When these larger-than-life items are positioned in environments that aren't used to seeing art, they seize the attention of the audience and prompt them to examine their own behaviors.
They hope to shine a light on the contemporary political, social, technical, and environmental reality through their current collaboration initiatives that is both illuminating and unpretentious.
Throughout this project, I will be required to:
- Adhere to the production schedule provided, reading ALL instructions,
- Create and design a screen-print one side of your bag,
-Create an appliqué for the opposite side of your bag,
- Finish this procedure using just calico and waste textiles; and
- Analyze my product and production technique.
