Does Cannabis Reveal That Joe Biden is a Pawn for Big Pharma?Evergreen Buzz
The document is a blog post that argues Joe Biden supports cannabis legalization only to benefit big pharmaceutical companies and not the people. It claims Biden wants to reschedule cannabis to Schedule II, which would allow only pharmaceutical companies to grow and sell it. The post argues this is done at the behest of big pharma companies that Biden receives donations from. It concludes Biden is not actually interested in legalizing cannabis and freeing prisoners, but rather in ensuring big pharma profits from any legalization.
It is 2022, Why is Marijuana Still Not Legal?Evergreen Buzz
The document discusses why cannabis is still not legal at the federal level in the United States in 2022. It argues that decades of anti-drug propaganda have led to ingrained beliefs that cannabis is dangerous. Private interests from pharmaceutical companies, private prisons, police unions, and rehabilitation clinics that profit from cannabis prohibition also lobby politicians to maintain the status quo. The Biden administration has also failed to support legalization despite public and party support. However, the author remains hopeful that 2022 will see progress on legalization at the federal level.
The document discusses Canada's plans to legalize marijuana. It outlines the agenda, including definitions of marijuana, potential short-term and long-term health effects, the UN's stance on drug enforcement worldwide, and the costs associated with implementing legalization. The author estimates the potential market size in Canada could be $5-8.7 billion annually and outlines leading marijuana companies like Canopy Growth Corp. The document concludes that marijuana should be legalized but the government must fully fund associated health, legal and regulatory costs and work with other countries to change international drug laws.

The passage discusses the debate around the Affordable Care Act (ACA) between Democrats and Republicans. While 7 million have now signed up under the ACA, Republicans still want a full repeal. Democrats argue that repeal is unrealistic and want to modify the law instead. However, Democrats are divided on whether to fully embrace the law or propose changes, and have not agreed on specific changes. Support for the law has increased slightly but remains divided along party lines. The politics of healthcare could shift by the November election depending on if Democrats can motivate supporters as much as Republicans motivate opponents.

The U.S. government has pursued prohibition and criminalization of certain mind-altering substances for over a century, viewing it as a public policy goal. Both major political parties oppose drug use. The "War on Drugs" began in the 1880s and has cost over $160 billion annually, including for law enforcement and incarceration of drug offenders. Public service campaigns aim to discourage drug use, especially among youth, but have faced criticism over implementation and effectiveness. Debates continue over decriminalization approaches versus current prohibition policies.

This document provides an overview of US presidents and political parties from 1981 to 2016. It discusses the history and philosophies of the Republican and Democratic parties. This presentation discusses the legal implications and business impact that legalized marijuana has had across the United States and would have in Ohio if such a law was enacted. Topics covered included the national and international footprint of legalized marijuana, a history of its legalization, the current legislative landscape for states considering legalization, an overview of the stance of each presidential candidate on the issue, and the steps the Ohio legislature has been taking to research and understand the perspectives of voters across the state.
There was also an in-depth discussion about what legalization of medical or recreational marijuana would mean for Ohio employers and HR managers, including the new employee protections and accommodations that would likely change long-held workplace policies and create financial and administrative burdens on businesses.
Tony Fiore, an HR advocate and attorney-lobbyist at Kegler Brown, presented this program on March 10, 2016, to the Greater Cincinnati Human Resources Association.
The document provides biographical and political background information on over 50 members of the US Congress, including their state, years of service, previous experience, and current leadership roles. It also summarizes 4 current events relating to violence linked to drug trafficking in Puerto Rico, a baseball player testing positive for steroids after denying use, forest management efforts in Georgia, and the White House considering additional economic stimulus measures.
The document is a forwarded email containing a press release from the Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI). Specifically, the press release states that the EPA report inappropriately cites conclusions from the National Assessment that had been agreed would not be considered official policy. CEI argues this undermines the Bush Administration's global warming policies.

The document discusses how cannabis legalization exposes a disconnect between politicians and the public. Most Americans now support legalizing cannabis for medical and recreational use, yet politicians have been slow to change policies. The upcoming presidential election features candidates like Biden who have historically opposed cannabis but are now calling for decriminalization. The author argues this does not go far enough and that the election could mark the end of the "old regime" of politicians out of touch with current public opinion on cannabis legalization.

What Is Biden’s Battle with Cannabis?
Only one obstacle seems to be standing in the way of cannabis reforms on a federal level during
this administration. That obstacle seems to be the President, Joe Biden.
Before the elections, Biden's campaign promises included plans to free Americans jailed due to
cannabis-related counts. He also promised to use his executive powers, if elected, for certain non-
violent and drug crimes.
Now, with more than 100 days used in o ce, it is becoming apparent that the Biden
administration has no solid plan in place for marijuana legalization on a federal level.
Is Biden just another "Faux-cannabis" politician
Over 70% of the American population is on board with cannabis reforms. This is one of the
reasons why a lot voted for these democrats. Instead of sticking to the promises made during the
campaign, the president for one has ignored all prompts about following his predecessor's
example on these reforms.
President Trump took concrete steps for the cannabis community by freeing more than a dozen
federal prisoners who were sentenced to jail terms ranging from 15 years to life for cannabis-
related counts. These counts include the cultivation, transportation, and sales of marijuana on
American soil.
Biden is reluctant all of a sudden to play out the next phase for cannabis reforms.
Biden has always been anti-cannabis reforms since the beginning of his career as a U.S. politician.
Some of the harsh laws against cannabis legislation can be attributed to Joe Biden; he wrote
several bills to toughen the criminal penalties of these drugs.

In his early days as a lawmaker in the house, Biden was an ardent drug warrior. He also made sure
he bragged about the ancient sentences he helped sign into law.
It is now 2021, but it seems the 78 years old President has still not caught up with the stance of
several Americans on cannabis policies.
Recent polls show that of the 70% that prefer cannabis, 78% are Democrats and 62% are
Republicans. One cannot but wonder why the President opposes something his party wants.
The irony is that the opponents he beat for his party's presidential ticket all support marijuana
reforms. The current Vice President, Kamala Harris also supports repealing the federal marijuana
ban. Biden is one of the few minorities in his age bracket that opposes these federal reforms.
Recently…
The White House terminated the appointments of over ve members of the Biden administration.
This occurred in March this year. These people were said to have admitted to using cannabis in the
past.
The White House, under the authority of Biden, did this with the excuse that cannabis is illegal
under federal law. This is not the progressive stance Americans hoped for when Biden came into
o ce. This approach rather comes o as being disappointing. Hopefully, there's more to it than is
being told.
What Does President Biden Want
I was able to gather that the President would rather support a federal policy that decriminalizes
low-level possession of the drug, rather than remove the federal ban. A lot of Americans will not
support this view. It is archaic.
Not to mention, it will not correct any of the systemic complexity in the US cannabis industry.
What's the use of a federal policy that would have minimal e ect at the same federal level?
Doing this would not delist the drug from its current status as a schedule 1 drug. Hence the con ict
between the Controlled Substance Act and the state laws that allow decriminalization of cannabis
would remain.
The VP's Stance
VP Harris on the other hand is one of the lead sponsors of the MORE Act
(https://cannabis.net/blog/news/congress-holds-historic-vote-today-on-federal-cannabis-
legalization-in-the-more-act). Although the ACT hasn't been fully approved. When it is approved, it

is going to remove cannabis from the controlled substances list. That is, it will decriminalize
cannabis on a federal level. It would also make certain that the stigma assigned to previous
cannabis users becomes a thing of the past.
The recent termination of these previous users however contradicts what the VP claims
(https://cannabis.net/blog/news/president-biden-is- ring-sta ers-who-admitted-they-smoked-
weed-in-the-past-but-what-about-vp) to believe in. More like she's sharing Biden's beef with
cannabis. It makes no sense. It would only do more to persuade other anti-cannabis reform
Americans to terminate the employment of previous cannabis users, as well as maintain the
discrimination attached to the drug.
Not Democrat-like! Democrats are known for using their platform to call for the decriminalization
and rescheduling of cannabis products. The party is also all-in on approving cannabis for medical
use on a federal level.
Is Biden's reluctance in away way related to son's
drug problem
There are speculations that the President seems to be holding o on cannabis reforms due to
what he has been through with his son, Hunter.
The 51-year-old Biden has previous issues with cocaine addiction. His book—Beautiful Things—
tells of his dark experience with alcohol and cocaine.
Even if the President has the best intentions at heart, the legality of this situation cannot be
ignored. During his campaign, Biden himself concurred that nobody should be in jail for smoking
pot. This is May and no concrete step has been taken yet. The excuse of the Presidency is focused
on getting people food, vaccines, and back to school will get old at a point.
No president should be too busy to set up a progressive policy that would impact the lives of his
citizens.
Meanwhile…
Senate Majority Leader, Chuck Schumer, has started taking steps for the legislature to nally
decriminalize marijuana. Sen Schumer has said that by the next uno cial weeds day—04/20,
cannabis legalization needs to have taken progressive steps forward.
But, this can hardly be done if the President is not in full support.
Republicans will also try to stall the process, in addition to the libuster that would be present.
To overcome this libuster, at least 10 GOP votes are needed

Bottom Line
Biden will not be quick to sign cannabis reforms into law because he has an anti-marijuana stance.
However, the sooner he gets rid of his old school way of thought, the earlier the US pot industry
can be perfectly taxed and regulated to in uence the country's economy.
The federal lawmakers need to convince the president by letting him in on the bene ts of these
much-needed legal proceedings.
The president needs to wake up and smell the co ee ASAP!

What are the 9 Best Movies Where a Story about Drugs is the Central Theme?
Nonetheless – to be on this list the movie in question should have drugs play a signi cant role and typically should become “cult
classic” after release. It’s important to note that this list isn’t exclusively about "weed"“- but rather “drugs” in general. Movies like
Cheech and Chong and Pineapple Express have been covered in previous lists.

Legislation Passes in California Senate Allowing for Creation of Cannabis Banks
If SB 51 is signed into law, banks and credit unions will be able to apply for a special charter allowing them to legally do business

Michigan's Cannabis Journey - Dispensary Spotlight on Treehouse 603
For technically being part of the MidWest, an area perhaps only second to the Bible Belt in antiquated marijuana law, many of
Michigan’s cities have had a surprisingly liberal stance on marijuana use for many years. Ann Arbor decriminalized marijuana back
in 1972, followed later by Detroit and others who either made marijuana laws o cially unenforceable, or such a low priority that…
