This document reviews research on the negative effects of religiosity in the United States. It examines how religiosity may impact aggression, education, and intelligence by comparing the U.S. to other developed countries. The purpose is to analyze how religiosity psychologically affects those living in a modern nation like the U.S. Studies have looked at these factors and differences between the U.S. and nations like Sweden, Japan, and others. Further analysis could compare the effects of Christianity in America to the effects of Islam in Iran.
