4. AFTER WEIGHT LOSS

portrayal of her in the media changed - it was more positive about
focused on how she was improving her life
➤ However, as seen in the headlines, despite Crosby loosing weight
there is still a negative spin on each news story such as ‘criticisms
about her bizarre bellybutton’

5. SEX ON TV
➤ Crosby made headlines during her time on Geordie Shore
when it was revealed that she had had sex with fellow
housemate which was then filmed and shown in the program.
➤ Crosby received a considerable amount of backlash from the
general public being labelled as a ‘whore’ or ‘easy’
➤ However, many of the male contestants also had sex on the
show and were not labelled in the same way nor given a
negative reputation and these incidents were often not
reported in the media

a good wife/partner, keeping a family happy, what to wear,
how to be a good cook and so on.
➤ This reflects the differing way in which Crosby is represented -
when she is following stereotypical feminine expectations she
is portrayed in a better light such as when she is in a
relationship
