Archiving of Web Sites

Need to establish guidelines on archiving of
old IMS websites and mtt.org materials
Am backing up “snapshots” of server
contents off-line periodically to CD/DVD
 Questions:
 How long post conference should web site be
    alive?
 How long is domain registration maintained?
 When (and by whom) is web site archived?
 When are server archives moved to off-line
    (CD/DVD)?
Plans Next Period

Finish configuration of all current mtt.org,
rfic, rawcon, mttwireless sites
Re-establish local access by each content
owner and conference webmaster
Re-create community forums on new server &
migrate forums from Yahoo
 Trade between vBulletin vs PHPBB
Develop a fresh homepage for mtt.org
Investigate the implementation of CMS or
blogging capability for content creation &
maintenance

  • 19. Archiving of Web Sites Need to establish guidelines on archiving of old IMS websites and mtt.org materials Am backing up “snapshots” of server contents off-line periodically to CD/DVD Questions:  How long post conference should web site be alive?  How long is domain registration maintained?  When (and by whom) is web site archived?  When are server archives moved to off-line (CD/DVD)?

Plans Next Period Finish configuration of all current mtt.org, rfic, rawcon, mttwireless sites Re-establish local access by each content owner and conference webmaster Re-create community forums on new server & migrate forums from Yahoo  Trade between vBulletin vs PHPBB Develop a fresh homepage for mtt.org Investigate the implementation of CMS or blogging capability for content creation & maintenance
