3. Definition
The word Web Development is made up of two words:
 Web : It refers to websites, web pages of anything that works over the
internet.
 Development: Building the application from scratch.
 Web development can encompass a wide range of tasks and
technologies, including web design, web programming, database
management, and content management. It is an essential part of the
modern internet and plays a critical role in the success of businesses
and organizations of all sizes.

 Web development refers to the creating, building, and maintaining of
websites. It includes aspects such as web design, web publishing, web
programming, and database management.
 It is the creation of an application that works over the internet
i.e. websites.
 Web Development can be classified into two ways:

5. Web Technologies
HTML, or Hyper Text Markup Language, is the standard markup language
for creating web pages. I learned how to structure and format content,
create hyperlinks, and add images and multimedia to web pages using
HTML.
CSS, or Cascading Style Sheets, is a stylesheet language used for describing
the look and formatting of a document written in HTML. I learned how to
use CSS to style web pages and create responsive designs that adapt to
different screen sizes.
JavaScript is a programming language that is commonly used to add
interactivity to web pages. I learned how to use JavaScript to manipulate
HTML elements, create animations, and handle user events such as clicks
and form submissions

6. Web Technologies
MySQL is a popular open-source database management system used in
web development. I learned how to use MySQL to create and manage
databases and perform common database operations such as creating
tables, inserting data, and querying data.
PHP is a server-side scripting language used for web development. I
learned how to use PHP to create dynamic web pages and interact with
databases.
Bootstrap is a popular front-end framework for developing responsive,
mobile-first projects on the web. I learned how to use Bootstrap's pre-
designed components and layout grid system to create professional-
looking websites quickly and efficiently.

React JS is a JavaScript library for building user interfaces. I learned
how to use React JS to create reusable components and build
efficient and scalable front-end applications.

Frontend development
The part of a website that the user interacts directly is termed as front
end. It is also referred to as the ‘client side’ of the application.

Backend is the server side of a website. It is the part of the website that
users cannot see and interact. It is the portion of software that does not
come in direct contact with the users. It is used to store and arrange data.

10. Full-Stack Developer
A full-stack developer is a developer or engineer who can build
both the front end and the back end of a website.
The front end (the parts of a website a user sees and interacts
with) and the back end (the behind-the-scenes data storage
and processing) require different skill sets. Since full-stack
developers are involved with all aspects of the development
process, they must have expertise in both.
