Randall Fincke leads a company that designs wearable defibrillators to help cardiac patients. Studies show that wearable defibrillators can provide protection for patients who need arrhythmia monitoring and treatment. Data shows that patients who used wearable defibrillators kept them on for all but three hours per day on average. During that time, about a quarter of patients received effective electrical shocks to treat arrhythmias, while the rest deactivated the shock response intentionally. Wearable defibrillators have saved many lives by providing early intervention and response in cardiac emergencies.
