5. Do individual Freelancer need a Trade License?
As per the Municipal Corporations, every person or business engaged in any kind of trade, business or profession is required
to obtain a trade license.
What if my application is rejected?
You can appeal to the standing committee seeking for the reason and reconsideration.
What if I run the business without Trade License?
That is an offense, the health inspector, as a punishment could get your business shut down.
Will a duplicate license be issued?
Yes. A duplicate license will be issued on payment of Rs.100/- towards processing charges and on submission of the required
documents.

In case the original was lost, mutilated, destroyed, etc.
How long is the Trade License Valid?
The Trade License is issued on Financial Year basis or for a Short Period of time.
For example, if a license is issued on 15th October 2015, it will be valid upto 31st March 2016.
What is the license fee to be paid for renewing a trade license?
License fee at the following rates has to be paid:
• Category A: Commercial Area
• Category B: Household area
