This document discusses extending flood risk models beyond hydrodynamic modeling of riverine, urban, and overland flows. It describes using a single modeling platform to perform advection-dispersion and ecological modeling to assess impacts on water quality and biological systems. The document also mentions using the platform to model morphological changes to rivers and coastlines and their effects on hydrodynamics, as well as advancing flood risk assessments to include dynamic wave overtopping. An example demonstrates coupling 1D and 2D hydrodynamic models with advection-dispersion and water quality models within the MIKE FLOOD software.
