Sid the Sediment begins his journey in the mountains as rain and melting snow cause cracks in rocks over time. He falls off and is carried by flowing water, forming small channels that join larger streams and rivers. As Sid is rubbed against other rocks during his long journey, his edges are smoothed and he grows smaller until he finally reaches the beach as a very small grain, having been carried by water that cut away land and sediments.
