This case study summarizes a kitchen renovation project in Bethesda, MD that won design awards. Architect Ralph Cunningham aimed to increase natural light and connect isolated rooms in the 1930s home. The solution involved installing a skylight, clerestory windows, and a large breakfast nook window to bring light into the kitchen. This successfully opened up the living spaces and won awards including from Home Magazine for the skylight manufacturer.
