Overall, the poem promotes virtues of inner strength, composure, and perseverance.
The document summarizes key aspects of the European Union's Reinsurance Directive and how it is implemented in various jurisdictions. The RID establishes rules for supervising foreign reinsurers conducting business in the EU. It allows foreign reinsurers to operate in the EU without establishing a branch, but prohibits more favorable treatment than EU reinsurers. The RID was implemented in the UK through various Financial Services and Markets Act regulations. In the US, the NAIC's Nonadmitted Insurance Model Act sets capital requirements for foreign reinsurers to operate. New York State further requires a $20 million trust fund from alien reinsurers not otherwise licensed.

9 things to think about before you give upMadiha Ahmed
The document provides 9 things to consider before giving up. It notes that you imprison yourself with self-defeating stories but you are alive in a vast world with infinite possibilities. Some key points are that failure is not falling down but staying down, what you've learned is important, tough times are part of life's natural balance, pain helps you grow, and life is still good despite its challenges. Simplifying your perspective and keeping determination can help you push through difficulties.
Tired of going through the motions and feeling stuck? This document provides advice for reinventing your life. While some things may seem out of our control, we attract our own experiences through our mindset. To reinvent yourself, be calculative but not too obsessed with unknown outcomes. Follow intuition but don't get tangled in overanalysis. Reinventing isn't easy, but taking responsibility and being open to opportunities can help you create a better quality of life.

SUMMARY :
It’s never too late to make a new beginning for yourself. Every day is a chance to begin anew.
Doesn't it feel good just to know that?
Being static isn't in our human nature, so it's essential to your growth that you try all sorts of new things all the time.
We constantly question ourselves when change and new beginnings are the essence of being human.
Maybe you’ve wondered, “Could I ever start again?"
That's you battling with self-doubt. It's a strangely powerful fear if you think about it. Because it pops up no matter how well or badly you do something.
Your mind seems to be fighting you at every turn!
But I've written about self-doubt and confidence before and the key is to stack up your wins and see your life for what it is, a series of really nice accomplishments.
My battle with self-doubt is constant. But it's necessary thing that drives me.
Because I'd rather try something new and find out if I'm good at it, rather than let self-doubt keep me from ever leaving the house.
Self-doubt is just a pause that's looking to become a stop. Don’t let it.
Embrace your self-doubt.
Don't you want to see what a new beginning, a new you, looks like?
Self-doubt won’t magically disappear. So invite it in.
You can't control self-doubt and make it go away, you can only control how you react to it. Go toward it and take that first step toward mastering it.
Warren Buffet, one of the wealthiest people in the world, talks about his struggle with self-doubt in his book, "The Snowball". All sorts of successful people experience it. It's here to stay.
The great ones rush head on toward it.
Can you start again?
Sometimes I hear, "It's too late for me to start something new."
But experience always beats time. Time doesn't matter. Experiences matter.
Sometimes when people retire, they don't know what to do. But they have infinite possibilities.
You can begin. And if whatever you choose to do doesn't vibe with you, you begin again. Hit the reset button!
Did you know that Colonel Sanders, of Kentucky Fried Chicken, got started when he was 60?
They built a freeway through his restaurant! Gone forever.
But he didn't give up.
He decided to franchise the concept of Kentucky Fried Chicken and use his secret chicken recipe. That concept turned him into a multimillionaire!
So I don't want to hear that it's too late to get started. It's never too late.
Search your heart. What is something that you want to start?
What is it that you really want to do?
Whatever it is, I can't begin to imagine, but you can begin to do it...today!
Here's your permission. Here's your proof. It's never too late to begin again.
Don't wait until the new year. The beginning happens when you begin. You can do it anytime. Like now.

He encourages spending time alone to better understand oneself, removing negative influences, and taking action on dreams rather than just talking about them. Brown asserts that greatness exists within all people and one should believe in themselves as the one who can achieve their dreams through perseverance and self-investment.

- Problems, pain and suffering are inevitable parts of life, but can make us stronger if faced with determination and persistence. Difficult times do not define us; it is how we respond that matters.
- To overcome failure, one must be willing to try again after falling. Successful people are not defined by whether they fail, but by their refusal to accept failure as final. Persistence and willingness to adapt are what lead to triumph over adversity.
- Even when all else fails, one should find new dreams and directions rather than giving up. As long as we are alive, there is opportunity to turn

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

GDG Cloud Southlake #33: Boule & Rebala: Effective AppSec in SDLC using Deplo...James Anderson
Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Want To Be Extraordinary? Accept Failures!
1. Want To Be Extraordinary?
Accept Failures!
Michael Lee
http://www.20daypersuasion.com/goldaccess.htm
2. Do you come across people who
complain all day about their lives, but
don’t do a thing to change it? These are
the people whose lives are fraught with
inaction, and they lead a life that is
unsatisfying and unfulfilling.
3. Though they talk nineteen to a dozen
and find faults with everyone and
everything around them, they are
scared that if they take the first step
towards changing their own life, they
will meet with failure.
4. They simply dread the idea of stepping
out of the self-made protective cocoon
that they have built around themselves
and simply spend their entire lives
complaining. You would not want to be
grouped with these kind of people,
wouldn't you?
5. It is easier said than done though, as
there is no shortcut to success. So if
you are really passionate about
something but feel yourself stuck in
something you are not meant to do, you
need to start taking action. And the
action must be taken now!
7. In the words of Theodore Roosevelt "Far
better it is to dare mighty things, to win
glorious triumphs, even though
checkered with failure, than to take
rank with those poor spirits who neither
enjoy much nor suffer much, because
they live in the grey twilight that knows
not victory nor defeat."
8. Roosevelt in these immortal lines urges
everyone to take chances. Taking
chances is the one thing you need to do
in order to start leading a better life!
9. By taking chances, we don’t mean that
you should risk putting up all of your
life’s savings in a casino! By taking
chances, we mean stepping out of your
comfort zone and doing what you have
always dreamed of!
10. For instance, if you have always wanted
to be a writer, do not be afraid of your
manuscript getting rejected. Write for
yourself, write from your heart and just
as the nightingale did with the rose,
colour your stories with the last drop of
blood in your heart!
12. When you follow a life of passion, you
will see that even the Universe will
conspire to make things happen in your
favour. Good things will automatically
fall into place for those people who
have really decided to follow their
passion, despite the difficulties and
challenges ahead.
13. But until you muster up all the courage
in you and step out, you will never
really know what taking chances is all
about!
14. Many people are afraid to take risks and
remain comfortable in their current
status in life, but you must also
remember that that is exactly why their
lives remain mediocre. Nothing that
they do is ever path breaking! And they
have the nerve to complain why life is
so boring (or even depressing)!
15. Imagine what would have happened if
Bill Gates or Steve Jobs had not taken
the chances they did in life, or if
Thomas Alva Edison gave up the
invention of light bulb just because he
failed! Yes, Edison failed not once, not
twice, but more than 10,000 times
before he came up with the invention
that is lighting up our lives right now!
16. So you see, failure is inevitable. When
you try your hand at something new,
there are bound to be obstacles and
setbacks, but failure (as the age old
saying goes) is indeed the stepping
stone to success.
17. Don’t be afraid of failure. It's better to
fail a thousand times to achieve a one-
time success, than to never fail nor
succeed at anything!
18. So step out with enthusiasm, live life with
excitement, do great things for others,
take your chances and be
extraordinary... else you will be the
person whose tombstone will read
something like “Here lies Kris, who
lived a normal life and died a normal
person!”
