Walt Disney was born in Chicago in 1901 and moved with his family to a farm in Missouri as a child where he enjoyed riding pigs. He later ran a newspaper route in Kansas City before making his first cartoons called Laugh-O-Gram at age 21. Walt married Lillian Bounds in 1925 and had great successes with releasing the Mickey Mouse film Steamboat Willie in 1928 and opening Disneyland on July 17, 1955. Walt died of lung cancer in 1966.
