Slide 2: Hook/attention grabber: I remember as a child my parents not being there to support me. But what I learn from the game is to get everyone
around me involved and that made me feel better because we worked as a team. So now as a coach, a parent, or whatever role you may play in a child’s
life…

Teaching And Support
•
Slide 4: What’s in it for the audience? Explain why your topic is important or worth discussing. There are many children not being taught the game
of basketball and not given the support for structure. This is worth discussing because we can change and help our children learn the game and support
them.

Slide 5: Why should your audience listen to you? Explain your ethos (credibility). My audience should listen to me and find me credible because I
have experienced in learning and playing the game of basketball as a child and know first hand what it can teach you outside the classroom.

Working And Playing Together
•
Slide 9: Teaching children how to play and work well with other. In my research on Skipprichard.com I found a quote by the late Herny Ford that I
liked and he said, “Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.” Teaching the children how to play and
work together give them the sense of doing some thing right.

Passing To Assist
•
Slide 10: In playing the game of basketball you learn how to pass the ball to one another that will assist each other, you dribble the ball to advance,
you set picks to free up one of your team mates, you shoot to score points, and play defense to try and stop the opposing team from scoring. That’s
teamwork.

Practice And Conditioning
•
Slide 13: Work is practice and conditioning. The children are working together to prepare for the game. This helps them as far as endurance, how to
cope with winning and losing, and teaches them strong work ethics. On parent-kids.com I received information from an article the “Importance Of A Good
Work Ethic”. As a coach the children look at me like the boss. To listen and follow instructions devolves structure.

When The Teaching Comes Together
•
Slide 16: After all the running up and down the court, not making every shot that is taken, the children have so much fun. They come down court
with the ball, family and friends supporting them and they put in action what they have learned and score…priceless…

Win Or Lose
•
Slide 20: Clincher/new bliss: When the children are taught the game of basketball in elementary school we can give them a heads up as far as life is
concerned. With the support from us, our children and us can change some things in life for the better. For them and us.
