Developing Android and iOS Apps With C#, .NET, Xamarin, Mono, and Windows AzureRainer Stropek
The Xamarin and Mono platforms enable C# developers to use their existing knowledge and experience to write apps für Android and iOS. At BASTA 2013 conference I did a 75 minutes session about that topic. During the session I showed a sample that used SQLite on the phone and Windows Azure Mobile Service as its backend in the cloud. This is the slidedeck I used for the session
AngularJS seems initially complex with many new concepts and terms. It is designed for single page applications and has a learning curve. AngularJS uses modules, dependency injection, MVC principles, scopes, directives, filters and services/factories/providers to build applications. Testing and reusable components are important. While challenging, AngularJS is a powerful tool for building dynamic web applications.
Angular is a framework for building single-page applications. It uses TypeScript, which is a superset of JavaScript, and includes features like modules, components, directives, and services. Modules contain components and the root module is AppModule. Components have an HTML template and class with logic to control the template. Services provide reusable functionality like data access. Directives modify views by providing instructions within component templates. Setting up Angular involves installing Node.js, TypeScript, typings, Angular CLI, and creating a new project with ng new. The main.ts file acts as the entry point and bootstraps the app module. The tsconfig.json file provides TypeScript configuration and compiles TS to JS.
This document provides an overview of various topics related to mobile application development including cloud computing, interaction design, Android, iOS, web technologies like HTML5 and JavaScript, programming languages like Java and Objective-C, frameworks, gaming, user experience design, and more. Alon Fliess: APM – What Is It, and Why Do I Need It? - Architecture Next 20CodeValue
So, you have a mature development process, and you also embrace DevOps. Your development team uses agile methodology. You use Git, and you have a continuous dev, test, and deployment process. But do you sleep well at night? Do you know that your services are up and running? That there are no availability, performance, and stability problems? Do you know if your customers are happy? The answer to all of those questions is precisely what APM systems provide.
Application Performance Monitoring systems have become the IDE of the Site Reliability Engineers (SRE) and, as a matter of fact, for the all DevOps team, including the Dev part. In this session, you will get to know the essence of the APM systems, the good, the bad, and the vision about their future.

Introduction to React Native - Lev Vidrak, WixDroidConTLV
React Native enables building applications with JavaScript and React targeting different platforms by using native UI building blocks. It was written by Facebook, released in 2015 as open-source software, and is community driven. Major companies like Facebook, Instagram, Tesla, Uber and Wix use React Native. React Native uses the same fundamental UI building blocks as traditional mobile development (e.g. FrameLayout, TextView, ImageView on Android), but instead of writing native code, you write JavaScript and React code. This architecture allows sharing code across platforms while retaining native speeds through the React Native bridge.

It provided overviews and examples of key Angular 2 concepts like components, data binding, dependency injection, and services. It also explained how to set up an Angular 2 project using the Angular CLI and TypeScript basics.
Highload JavaScript Framework without InheritanceFDConf
The project involves a front-end with UI widgets and a back-end with services, databases (.Net and MongoDB), and several standalone systems that interact. The front-end integrates with sites from over 70 brands. Widgets are created and their versions managed, with pros being the ability to change everything in new versions while maintaining backward compatibility, and cons being needing to fix bugs in all versions and get brands to update. Communication between widgets uses events both globally and bubbling up from children. Context is cloned and widgets reload on context changes. Load testing and error tracking are used. Plans exist to move more to front-end, use OOP and MVC patterns.
ASP.Net 5 and C# 6 bring significant changes to the .NET framework and programming language. ASP.Net 5 introduces a new, modular framework that is cross-platform and optimized for building modern web applications. It uses middleware for request handling and dependency injection for services. C# 6 includes new features like null conditional operators, string interpolation, and auto-property initializers that improve code readability and safety. While Umbraco itself may not immediately use these new technologies, .NET developers should learn them to stay current with the platform.

The introduction of DLAU and the CCB & CCX licensing model caused quite a stir in the HCL community. As a Notes and Domino customer, you may have faced challenges with unexpected user counts and license costs. You probably have questions on how this new licensing approach works and how to benefit from it. Most importantly, you likely have budget constraints and want to save money where possible. Don’t worry, we can help with all of this!
We’ll show you how to fix common misconfigurations that cause higher-than-expected user counts, and how to identify accounts which you can deactivate to save money. There are also frequent patterns that can cause unnecessary cost, like using a person document instead of a mail-in for shared mailboxes. We’ll provide examples and solutions for those as well. And naturally we’ll explain the new licensing model.
Join HCL Ambassador Marc Thomas in this webinar with a special guest appearance from Franz Walder. It will give you the tools and know-how to stay on top of what is going on with Domino licensing. You will be able lower your cost through an optimized configuration and keep it low going forward.
These topics will be covered
