Vyacheslav Fetisov is a Soviet and Russian ice hockey player and statesman who was born in 1958 in Moscow. He started playing hockey at a young age and joined the CSKA Moscow team at age 12. Over his career, Fetisov won numerous championships and awards including two Olympic gold medals, nine World Championship titles, and two Stanley Cups in the NHL with the Detroit Red Wings. He is considered one of the greatest defensemen in hockey history.
