3. External USB sound cards typically offer better
shielding and noise cancellation than integrated
sound cards when used with speech recognition. It
is highly recommended to avoid USB hub expanders
or splitters. It is also recommended to use a USB
port on the back of desktop computers because
they are dedicated USB ports (the front ports have
their power split), on laptop computers it does not
matter.
