Year 2004-2005: Gap year-Clinical experience at Dental Surgeries in Cyprus
Attendance at my father’s dental surgery and at Laspos Orthodontic Centre in Cyprus, observing the
provision of general dental care and orthodontics.
Both experiences have enabled me to be introduced to the dental environment and increased my
knowledge and understanding on what the dental profession involves
DEVELOPMENT: Elective Project
July 2009: Elective experience at the Orthodontics-Orthognathic Surgery Department at Queen
Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead, London including attendance to joint clinics and observation of
surgical procedures.
Elective report on the use of fixed appliances and surgery to provide Orthodontic treatment to
patients with cleft lip and palate.
Exposure to the management of challenging cases made me more confident in decision making and
more methodical in my treatment planning.
SKILLS AND ACHIEVEMENTS

President of Interact Club of Famagusta in Cyprus (2004-2005) working on projects and fund
raising for charity, improving my leadership and team building skills
Events officer at Queen Mary’s Cypriot Society Committee (2006-2008), organising events and
working in a team, taught me how to share ideas and opinions with other people
IT skills:
Excellent knowledge and use of Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Outlook and dentist-user
programs such as e-portfolio and DentistPro,Exact
Languages skills: Greek (native), English (fluent), French (intermediate)
INTERESTS
Dancing and Choreography: Ballet and contemporary dancing for 13 years, achieving distinctions in
all years. Performed “The Nutcracker” in 2004, member of “Ballet of Cyprus” and currently
attending hip-hop classes in London
Olympic gymnastics, achieving first prize-gold medals in 3 competitions
