Lakes Region Self-Advocacy Group Seeks Advisor
Advisor will work alongside 20 – 25 members in meetings to
encourage responsibility and independence, set goals,
promote decision-making, and to speak-up and have a voice.
Meetings involve one Saturday and one weekday evening
per month and additional 2 – 3 hours for up to 10 hours per

About the Lakes Region Self-Advocacy Group
The group is the oldest running self-advocacy group in the state, starting
around 1984. It is a recognized local chapter of the statewide self-advocacy
non-profit organization; People First of New Hampshire. Members of the
Lakes Region Self-Advocacy Group were the original task-force members
and co-founders in helping to establish People First of New Hampshire.
Several members of the group have had important roles on the board of
People First of NH as well as on a national level with Self-Advocates
Becoming Empowered. Members frequently speak at conferences both
statewide and nationally.The Lakes Region Self-Advocacy Group is
responsible for the beautification of the Laconia State Cemetery. For more
