OBJECTIVE
To obtain a position with your company as a professional dance instructor and entertainer, where my
broad artistic knowledge, experience and professionalism can be best fulfilled, to further develop my
career in dance and related fields.
BACKGROUND
From the early age of 8 I developed an interest in music coming from a family of singers and
entertainers, I began as a singer at school and other gatherings, I developed an interest in
dance as well, I eventually started to participate and learn in different dance activities, shortly
after I decided to take my interest of art education more formal and became a professional
dancer. After many years in the the dance instruction field I was able to branched into different
fields in the entertainment industry developing a brought artistic knowledge.
EDUCATION
 Studied Dance at a special program at the National school of Arts Havana Cuba 1992/1994.
 Attended the piano jazz program at Humber College, Toronto 1994
 Studied singing and composition at the Toronto Conservatory 1995
 Attended Workshops at Amadeo Rholdan Conservatory Havana Cuba 1998
 Studied dance with Caridad Rodriguez (caruca) at the Cultural Centre Havana Cuba 1998
 Studied dance with mentor Isais Rojas Banrara dance company Havana Cuba 2000/2002
 Attended training classes with world champion Richard Thibeault Toronto 2010
QUALIFICATIONS

 20 Years experience in the entertainment business
 Instructed dance at The Spanish center, Teyaba academy of the performance arts, Rafika's
School of the performance arts, Love to dance studios Studio 27, UFT Morning side campus,
the City of Brampton & Lula lounge.
 Two years, voted as Toronto’s Best Dance Instructor by Now Magazine, 1999 and 2002.
 Instructed dance for four months on the television show “Salsa Plus “on the TLN network.
 Dance appearances in motion pictures and TV series such as: That old feeling, Take the lead,
Against the ropes, 11-22-63 and Canadian TV Series La femme Nikita working with stars
Such as: Bette Midler, Dennis Farina, Antonio Banderas, James Franco, Meg Ryan, Omar
Epps, Kerry Washington, Charles S Dutton & Peta Wilson.
 Producer of Xtravaganza Show ‘this production of 23 entertainers participates in all the

2. major summer festivals Such as - Salsa on St Clair, Salsa at Blue mountain, Hispanic Fiesta,
Pan American festival, Mississauga Latin festival, Luminato and winners of the best dance
group of the year at The Scotia bank Caribbean festival (caribana).
 has worked with the Cuban Ministry of culture by bringing Canadians to Cuba in a cultural
exchange of dance lessons and music.
 Marketing / Social Media and Artistic director of Fregata Club, Six Degrees venue marketing,
and Mingles lounge. Duties: Book events, produce weakly themes, book musicians, deejays,
social media promotions, deal with staff and pay outs.
DANCE KNOWLEDGE:

Cuban Rhythms - Cha cha cha, Mambo, Danzon, Danzonete, Son, Changui, Rumba
Guaguanco, Casino, casino rueda, Cuban cabaret and Afro Cuban.
Latin Rhythms - Salsa , Bachata, Merengue, Cumbia, Samba as well as traditional & folkloric
dances from Panama, Venezuela, Dominican Rep, Colombia, Peru and Bolivia.
North American styles - Social waltz, Tango, Swing, Foxtrot, Rumba, Cha cha & Hustle
Received training Contemporary and modern dance which contributes to my dance
performances, as well as studies in Latin and Caribbean musicology.
