3. Housing Assignments 2016
• Room and Board Contracts are binding for the full academic year!
• If you presently receive financial aid, you may experience a
decrease in aid if you plan on moving to non-UE housing. Please
contact the Financial Aid Office for more information.
• You are expected to read all university and housing policies before
submitting your contract, as your e-signature binds them to all such
policies.
• VACANCIES: Should a vacancy occur in your Village unit, the
remaining occupants are responsible for filling the vacancy, or
splitting the cost of the vacancy.
• If you desire a special accommodation for a documented medical
condition, you must submit a Housing Accommodation.
4. Cancellation Policy
• April 5th Deadline – Any Reason
• After April 5th, you can ONLY cancel housing
for the following reasons (with $200 penalty and loss of
$100 deposit):
– Going to Harlaxton or Study Abroad
– Living locally with parents legal guardians
– Interning / Clinical / Co-op / Student Teaching
outside of Evansville area (full time)
– Transferring, graduating, or withdrawing
• Requests to live off campus with friends or
by self after April 5th will not be approved
5. Proxy Information
• If you are unable to come at assigned times, you
may send someone in your place
• Your Proxy should know all of your housing choices
• YOU should have your contract submitted by the
time proxy comes in
• Housing selection appointments are NOT a valid
excuse to skip class!

• Requests for Gender Neutral Housing in Villages are due at the
same time as Village Assignment Cards. An appointment with
Senior ResLife staff will be scheduled to review application and
examine options

14. Village Assignments
In order to apply to live in the Villages, you
must have at least 44 credit hours on record
in the Registrar’s Office as of the end of the
fall 2015 semester. All students living in the
Villages must have 60 credit hours at the
beginning of the fall 2016 semester.

Average credit hours vary year to year depending on how many
groups apply for village housing and the number of credit hours
each person has.

Available: Feb. 15 – Feb. 19
Get a group together that each have the
required 44 credit hours needed to apply to
live in the Villages. Pick up Village request
cards from the Residence Life Office.

Due: Friday Feb 19th
Completely fill out and turn in all of your
groups Village request cards to the
Residence Life Office by 5pm on Friday,
February 19.
Late requests will not be accepted.
18. Helpful Tip
• Note: fill out a variety of occupancy
configurations. Do Not apply for just one type
of unit.
• Example: a group filling out a card for a 4-
person apartment/house should also fill out two
2-person cards. If they do not receive the 4-
person spot, they still have an opportunity to
receive a 2-person spot.
• On each card, indicate your group’s occupancy
preference and include a group member’s
contact information.

the combined earned credit hours as a
group
• Townhouses and North Hall will be filled
first, then other Village units will be filled
21. Village Appointments
Students select Village Placements based on Occupancy
Assignments (by appointment only): March 1 - 3
Your group will be assigned an occupancy level
(ie: 2, 3, 4, North, Townhouse, 5, or 6 person)
Your group will be able to select your house/apartment.
You will need to sign the supplemental agreements. Please
arrive on time to your selection appointment.

Agreements
Students moving into Villages units will receive supplemental
agreements:
• Lead Warning Statement
Housing built before 1978 may contain lead-based paint. Lead
from paint, paint chips, and dust can pose health hazards if not
managed properly.
• Vacancies
Replace vacancies with a student of equivalent credit hours,
- OR -
Pay a unit vacancy fee set by the Office of Residence Life
23. Important Facts to Remember!
Once you have your assignment, you are finished with the housing
process
Please have roommates in mind when filling out Village Request
Cards
Contracts must be submitted between Feb. 29 – Mar. 3
Any spaces reclaimed or chosen during the housing process are
subject to adjustment or reassignment by the Office of Residence
Life if necessary
If you do not get a placement you desire, ask to be placed on a
wait list. Wait lists are used throughout the summer.
The Residence Hall process will take place after Spring Break
