COBieOWL An OWL ontology based on COBie standardAna Roxin
Presentation made on October 28th 2015, at The 14th International Conference on Ontologies, DataBases, and Applications of Semantics (ODBASE2015), Rhodes, Greece.
We describe our method for semi-automatically conceiving an OWL ontology for the COBie standard starting from a COBie spreadsheet template. We call this ontology COBieOWL and we populate it directly from COBie spreadsheet data files as used by building actors. We also discuss various benefits of adopting our approach, for example: it reduces semantic heterogeneity of the COBie model.
What Is Async, How Does It Work, And When Should I Use It?emptysquare
Python’s asynchronous frameworks, like asyncio, Tornado, and Twisted, are increasingly important for writing high-performance web applications. Even if you’re an experienced web programmer, you may lack a rigorous understanding of how these frameworks work and when to use them. Let’s see how asyncio's event loop works, and learn how to efficiently handle very large numbers of concurrent connections.
A little boy asks his mother why she cries. She says it's because she is a woman. Later he asks his father who says all women cry for no reason. As an adult he asks God, who explains that women were given strength, sensitivity and tears so they could bear the weight of the world and care for their families despite difficulties. God says a woman's beauty comes from her eyes and heart, which are often seen through her tears.
This document provides information about different types of economic systems, focusing on command economies. It discusses how command economies are centrally planned by the government and do not allow for private property or profit motive. Command economies aim to produce needs rather than wants and achieve economic equality. The document uses the former Soviet Union and modern countries like Cuba and North Korea as examples. It contrasts command economies with mixed economies and market-based economies, noting that most command economies fail in the long run due to inefficiencies.
Bioenergy technology in Thailand faces both opportunities and challenges. The country has strong potential for bioenergy production from feedstocks like sugar cane, rice, and palm, but faces challenges in improving yields and developing technologies for thermochemical conversion, liquid biofuels, and biogas. Government policies support renewable energy through pricing incentives and targets, but the bioenergy sector must still address issues of competing with food production and developing technologies for large-scale harvesting and conversion of feedstocks. Overall, bioenergy represents an important part of Thailand's renewable energy goals, but continued progress in technologies and overcoming resource constraints will be needed to realize its full potential.

Electrophoresis and blotting techniques by asheesh pandeyAsheesh Pandey
Electrophoresis and blotting techniques allow separation and analysis of charged biomolecules like proteins and nucleic acids. Electrophoresis involves migrating molecules through a gel or medium in response to an electric field, causing separation based on size, charge, and other properties. Proteins can be analyzed by techniques like SDS-PAGE, where SDS confers a uniform charge, allowing separation by size. Blotting can transfer separated molecules from gels to membranes for detection or analysis. Two-dimensional electrophoresis provides high resolution by separating first by isoelectric point then molecular weight.
MACROECONOMICS IN EXTINCTION : IMPACTS OF THE GLOBAL ECONOMIC CRISIS Dr. Raju M. Mathew
This document discusses the limitations of traditional macroeconomics in addressing the global economic crisis. It argues that macroeconomics remains too narrow and tribal in nature, focused on individual nations rather than taking a universal, humanitarian approach. The document calls for a new field called "Universal Economics" that treats all humanity equally and aims to ensure peace, prosperity, food and knowledge for all people worldwide. Further research is needed to develop the principles and tools of Universal Economics to help policymakers address issues like recession, imbalance and inequality on a global scale.
The Toyota plant in Japan prioritizes 5S principles throughout its operations. Tools and materials are clearly labeled and stored in designated areas to promote organization and efficiency. Visual cues are used to indicate problems on the production line. Workers receive training on processes and are encouraged to work standing at elevated workstations and furniture to facilitate genba approach.
RSA identified 33,145 phishing attacks in August, a 22% decrease from July, and estimates these attacks cost global organizations $282 million in losses. The report found that phishing attacks against U.S. nationwide banks increased from 59% to 72% of the total, while attacks against credit unions more than doubled from 5% to 12%. The U.S. remained the most targeted country with 61% of attacks, while brands in the U.S., UK, and Canada accounted for over 40% of the total phishing volume in August.

1) Atoms are composed of a small, dense nucleus surrounded by electrons in orbitals. Bohr proposed that electrons can only orbit in discrete energy levels with angular momentum that is quantized.
2) When electrons jump between energy levels, photons are emitted or absorbed with energy equal to the change in energy between the levels. This causes atomic emission and absorption spectra with distinct lines.
3) Excitation of atoms from collisions or photon absorption raises electrons to higher energy levels. Radiative or collisional de-excitation causes emission at characteristic wavelengths corresponding to transitions between levels.
Shared Interests as a Bridge Toward a Muslim MarriageMuslims4Marriage
The document discusses how shared interests can act as a bridge toward a Muslim marriage. It recommends that when creating a profile on muslims4marriage, men should accurately reflect their hobbies and interests. Further, when initially meeting someone from the site, shared interests make for good conversation. Finding common interests you both enjoy is important, though interests may change over time as married couples often grow to like new activities together.
IDC: Selecting the Optimal Path to Private CloudEMC
The document discusses three approaches to building a private cloud infrastructure: integrated infrastructure systems, reference architectures, and building your own systems. It finds that integrated infrastructure systems reduce overall costs by 55% and time to deployment by 65% compared to traditional approaches. Reference architectures also provide advantages in reducing costs by 25% and deployment time by 25%. Both approaches deliver significant benefits in efficiency and agility over building systems independently.
This document outlines the terms of a consultancy agreement between a client and consultancy. Key details include:
- The total estimated contract value and hourly rate for the consultancy services.
- The nature of the consultancy services to be provided and any facilities/equipment to be provided by each party.
- Provisions regarding staffing of the project, including qualifications of staff, ability to substitute or subcontract work, and responsibility for oversight.
- Terms of the agreement including payment schedule, termination notice periods, scope of work, and obligations of each party.
This document discusses the principle of virtual work, which is a variational formulation used in finite element analysis. It states that for any compatible virtual displacement field imposed on a body in equilibrium, the total internal virtual work must equal the total external virtual work. The principle allows obtaining the stiffness matrix equation KU=R by equating internal and external work. It is equivalent to the differential formulation, which involves satisfying equations of equilibrium, compatibility, and stress-strain relationships. The principle of virtual work is expressed as an integral over the volume and surface of the body relating the virtual strains and stresses to the external and boundary forces.
Dedupe-Centric Storage for General Applications EMC
Proliferation and preservation of many versions and copies of data drives much of the tremendous data growth most companies are experiencing. IT administrators are left to deal with the consequences. Because deduplication addresses one of the key elements of data growth, it should be at the heart of any data management strategy. This paper demonstrates how storage systems can be built with a deduplication engine powerful enough to become a platform that general applications can leverage.

1. Wow! Who would have thought that the entertainment
gaming industry would gross over a billion dollars in sales
every year, I don't want to date myself, but the gaming
industry has made great strides from the times when I was
a teenager. I would never have imagined that I would be
seeing video game trailers or demos, just as I did when I
would see movie previews or trailers like I did when I was
a kid. I really wish I was living in these times as a
teenager, when it comes to games. There are so many
games there are more of a variety of games out there that
is beyond my imagination. I an old school hip hop guy, so
one day I was in my son's room and I heard this song by
this old school rap artist that I would consider one of the
best underground rappers of my time on one of my son's
video game trailers menu.
2. I was surprised to hear that type of old school music on a
video game review, where the game is being promoted to
the masses. It just showed me how far the video game
industry has come, and the integration of hip hop within
the industry. For a while every video game my son played
especially the macho fighting or shooting games, had hip
hop in their demos or video game trailers.
3. This was very cool, especially the old school hip hop, It
gave me a whole different perspective on the gaming
industry and the way they diversified their portfolio with
hip hop culture. Now when I play my sports
games, instead of hearing those corny outdated them
songs from the NBA, NFL, or MLB. I can expect to hear
some good hip hop music as soon as I signed into my
membership from one of my favorite best underground
rappers. I must admit even though I love that spirit of
hearing the energy that I am feeling from getting fired up
to play NBA 2k12, this still does not make my game as a
hoopster any better. I do wonder sometimes, can the
video game industry take their dominance to the next
level, or have they reached their pinnacle? Can they make
their games any more realistic than they are now? Will the
