Coordinators and key stakeholders from Cherepovets, Dimitrovgrad, Izhevsk and
Stavropol are being were convened in this third training session of the We Choose Life
Youth Against HIV AIDS Project to explore ways in which they can develop campaigns
that will address identified needs and gaps in current HIV /AIDS communications,
enhance HIV/AIDS literacy amongst key target groups, especially youth; “engage the
unengaged”; overcome obstacles and strengthen the reach and impact of current
prevention and treatment services.
This campaign development workshop builds on the Stakeholder and Youth Volunteer
Network activities to date; in particular the youth behavioural surveys.
The workshop will serve to help each of the cities finalise campaign plans and will utilize
data collected by each city prior to the meeting see campaign development
planning questions below. The three day workshop will be include sessions on
communications as a determinant of health, formative communication research, issue
framing, an advocacy framework , practical campaign planning exercises, issues
related to social marketing, working with media, media advocacy, and campaign
evaluation. There will be both lectures, group work and discussion sessions.
Workshop Objectives
The overall aim of the project is to reduce the disease burden related to HIV/AIDS
amongst youth in participating cities.
The key objective of the workshop is to assist each city stakeholder team to agree and
finalise plans for a youth focused HIV/AIDS communication campaign that will raise
awareness and stimulate healthy behaviors, choices and policies.
As a secondary benefit of this process the workshop aims to enhance participants’
capacities in health communications, communication related research, advocacy,
social marketing as well as working with media.
It is further anticipated that the skills developed for this specific project should be
generalisable to other key public health communication challenges.
Pre-workshop activities- Some questions to answer
Each city is asked to carry out a series of tasks that is aimed at collecting data needed
for effective campaign planning. Reach city will customize their own campaign plans
aimed at enhancing HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment information, education and
public awareness (and supportive policies) by stimulating demand for information and
engaging and strengthening the capacity of health leaders, people living with
HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) and information mediators, e.g. health professionals, media, policy
spokespeople, NGO advocates, and private sector advertisers, to respond effectively.

The document outlines research and ideas from a project aimed at understanding and preventing homelessness. Key findings from the research include identifying personal risk factors for homelessness such as coping strategies and support networks. Ethnography revealed opportunities to intervene earlier through flexible frontline workers. Data analysis identified childhood risk factors that predict homelessness. Prototypes were developed and tested, including a self-referral helpline, personalized housing and wellbeing plans, and typologies to help identify those at risk. Feedback supported a strengthened focus on prevention through early identification, strength-based assessments, and addressing both housing and wider needs through improved coordination of services. However, larger structural issues also need to be addressed.
Information activism uses tools like blogs, maps, videos, mobile SMS, and social media to turn information into action by empowering individuals to tell their own stories and shape public communication. Effective info-activism requires having a clear strategy, solid data and information sources, and using the appropriate tools to disseminate your message. Various online tools can help activists track issues, keep up to date with developments, and monitor discussions in order to effectively respond and advocate for their cause.
Ryan Maxwell wants to promote disease education and awareness through the spreading of accurate and up-to-date information. Some ideas include updating information provided to local schools, encouraging recurring news segments on recent disease progressions and statistics, and having organizations provide seasonal updates on major diseases, treatments, and progress made. Maxwell will also use social media to raise awareness, volunteer and donate to relevant organizations, and find ways to spread information through existing social media features and platforms. The goal is to combat diseases by informing the public and giving them appropriate prevention and treatment options.
This document discusses the use of social media for crisis communication. It begins by introducing how social media has evolved from a mode of communication between individuals to a critical tool for crisis response. It then provides 10 comparisons between social media and traditional media, noting key advantages of social media like its ability to spread information globally instantaneously. The document outlines different types of social media tools and how they can be used for crisis communication purposes like sharing information, enhancing situational awareness, and managing reputational effects. It presents guidelines for using social media, including checklists for situation awareness and two-way communication. Finally, it provides recommendations for NAVGAS, suggesting LinkedIn and Twitter as preferable platforms and tools like Hootsuite for social media management
Here are the steps for Exercise 1.0:
1. Ask participants to break into small groups of 3-4 people.
2. Instruct each group to brainstorm examples of advocacy they have seen or heard of. It could be from their own communities or other places they've learned about.
3. After 5 minutes, have each group share one example with the larger group. Write the examples on a flipchart as they are reported out.
4. Once all examples have been shared, look for common themes or elements among the examples. Guide a discussion with questions like:
- What was the issue or problem being addressed in each example?
- Who was advocating and who were they advocating to/about?

Develop a disaster recovery plan to lessen health disparities and improve access to community services after a disaster. Then, develop and record a 10-12 slide presentation (please refer to the PowerPoint tutorial) of the plan with audio and speaker notes for the Vila Health system, city officials, and the disaster relief team.
As you begin to prepare this assessment, you are encouraged to complete the Disaster Preparedness and Management activity. The information gained from completing this activity will help you succeed with the assessment as you think through key issues in disaster preparedness and management in the community or workplace. Completing activities is also a way to demonstrate engagement.
Professional Context
Nurses perform a variety of roles and their responsibilities as health care providers extend to the community. The decisions we make daily and in times of crisis often involve the balancing of human rights with medical necessities, equitable access to services, legal and ethical mandates, and financial constraints. In the event of a major accident or natural disaster, many issues can complicate decisions concerning the needs of an individual or group, including understanding and upholding rights and desires, mediating conflict, and applying established ethical and legal standards of nursing care. As a nurse, you must be knowledgeable about disaster preparedness and recovery to safeguard those in your care. As an advocate, you are also accountable for promoting equitable services and quality care for the diverse community.
Nurses work alongside first responders, other professionals, volunteers, and the health department to safeguard the community. Some concerns during a disaster and recovery period include the possibility of death and infectious disease due to debris and/or contamination of the water, air, food supply, or environment. Various degrees of injury may also occur during disasters, terrorism, and violent conflicts.
To maximize survival, first responders must use a triage system to assign victims according to the severity of their condition/prognosis in order to allocate equitable resources and provide treatment. During infectious disease outbreaks, triage does not take the place of routine clinical triage.
Trace-mapping becomes an important step to interrupting the spread of all infectious diseases to prevent or curtail morbidity and mortality in the community. A vital step in trace-mapping is the identification of the infectious individual or group and isolating or quarantining them. During the trace-mapping process, these individuals are interviewed to identify those who have had close contact with them. Contacts are notified of their potential exposure, testing referrals become paramount, and individuals are connected with appropriate services they might need during the self-quarantine period (CDC, 2020).
An example of such disaster is the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020. People who had contact with someone .

This document summarizes a windshield survey of the community of Whitehouse, which is a rural town located 8 miles from a large city. The survey found that Whitehouse has several well-maintained neighborhoods, mostly single-family homes ranging from established to new construction. Parks and a community center provide recreation. Stores and services are available but limited, requiring travel. Transportation is mostly personal vehicles, with some public transit. The predominant demographic is working class families, and the community appears generally well-kept and safe.
The document summarizes the topics to be covered in a social marketing workshop, including segmentation, design thinking, pricing strategies, theories related to behavior change, and using social technologies and marketing mix elements. Segmentation involves identifying priority groups at highest risk or most open to change. Design considers compatibility with peoples' realities. Pricing examines both financial and non-financial costs and benefits. Theories help understand how to spread ideas through social networks. Social media can be used to overcome barriers and create scalable behavior change programs.
Social Marketing Is The Practice Of Utilizing TheAnkit Saxena
Social marketing is the practice of using commercial marketing techniques to promote social or health programs. It is audience-centered and aims to enhance perceived benefits and reduce costs of behaviors. The key aspects of social marketing are the "4 P's" - product, price, place, and promotion. NGOs are value-based organizations that rely on donations and volunteers. They have formal structures and are non-governmental entities focused on public good. Common types of NGOs include those focused on advocacy, grassroots implementation, acting as "mother NGOs" that provide support to smaller NGOs, and those affiliated with corporations.
The document discusses Crisis Intervention Teams (CIT), programs designed to help law enforcement effectively respond to mental health crises. CIT programs involve training law enforcement to de-escalate crises and connect individuals to mental health services instead of the criminal justice system. The document notes social workers provide training to CIT on mental illness and best practices. It also discusses themes from interviews like lack of understanding between CIT and social workers, and increasing social workers' roles through advocacy, cross-training, and community partnership.

The Michigan State University Sexual Assault Program (SAP) has assisted thousands of people impacted by violence by providing resources and support to affected victims. SAP provides resources such as immediate crisis intervention, therapy, and advocacy services to victims that have been affected by sexual violence, assault, rape, misconduct, or stalking. Programs offered by SAP include counseling, individual or group therapy sessions, support groups, a 24-hour hotline, advocacy, and crisis-chat to Michigan State students and individuals in the greater Lansing community who have been impacted by rape or sexual violence. SAP is dedicated to standing with survivors against all forms of social injustice by promoting individual healing and building an empowered, inclusive community to bring strength and resilience to all people impacted by sexual violence.
SAP recently introduced a new resource, Crisis Chat option via their website. This function allows users to virtually speak with a Sexual Assault Crisis Intervention (SACI) advocate. The overall aim of this is to create a more private, secure and safe space for survivors to be able to communicate about past traumas. With limited funding for promotional efforts, reaching the masses to promote this new feature has been difficult for MSU SAP. The goal of this campaign is to increase awareness of the Crisis Chat for potential users and to alleviate some of the stigmas for survivors and supporters regarding speaking out.

This document discusses lessons learned from various Ushahidi implementations. It identifies common challenges with crowdsourcing including information overload, underreporting, ensuring quality of information, limited human and technical capacity, and situational issues in deployments. It recommends that platforms be easy to deploy and customize, training and testing occur early, outreach and publicity are prioritized, partnerships with local groups are formed, and that local context and needs are considered. Keeping the goals of different stakeholders in mind and tailoring implementations accordingly is important for success.
Conference on Risk Communications in managing infectious diseasesRoger D Ramcharitar
This document discusses strategies for promoting innovation and research on new drugs, as well as improving awareness, patient safety, and partnerships related to infectious diseases. It recommends international surveillance networks and information sharing on promising research areas. It also recommends active government and academic involvement in research through national and international task forces. Additionally, it proposes educational initiatives, behavior change campaigns, and awareness programs for healthcare providers and the public to improve awareness and patient safety. Broad partnerships are needed at national, regional, and global levels.

This document outlines an assignment to create a suicide prevention program for an at-risk population. Students are to select a target population and create a 10-12 slide PowerPoint presentation addressing: the demographics and risk factors of the target population; ways to identify those most at risk; barriers to seeking help for the population; strategies to encourage help-seeking and public awareness; and the prevention plan. Students should follow guidelines for effective presentations and include scholarly sources to support their claims.
The document discusses guidelines for engaging with social media for suicide prevention purposes. It summarizes outcomes from an Australian roundtable meeting between mental health, technology, and media organizations to discuss opportunities and risks of social media engagement for youth suicide prevention. Key priorities identified include developing best practice guidelines for clinical engagement online, guidelines for online moderation, and empowering young people. The Mindframe initiative has since conducted further consultations and research to inform social media guidelines and address issues like measuring duty of care responsibilities online and moderating user generated content.

This is a Collaborative Learning Community assignment using the.docxsdfghj21

Indira awas yojana housing scheme renamed as PMAYnarinav14
Indira Awas Yojana (IAY) played a significant role in addressing rural housing needs in India. It emerged as a comprehensive program for affordable housing solutions in rural areas, predating the government’s broader focus on mass housing initiatives.
This report explores the significance of border towns and spaces for strengthening responses to young people on the move. In particular it explores the linkages of young people to local service centres with the aim of further developing service, protection, and support strategies for migrant children in border areas across the region. The report is based on a small-scale fieldwork study in the border towns of Chipata and Katete in Zambia conducted in July 2023. Border towns and spaces provide a rich source of information about issues related to the informal or irregular movement of young people across borders, including smuggling and trafficking. They can help build a picture of the nature and scope of the type of movement young migrants undertake and also the forms of protection available to them. Border towns and spaces also provide a lens through which we can better understand the vulnerabilities of young people on the move and, critically, the strategies they use to navigate challenges and access support.
The findings in this report highlight some of the key factors shaping the experiences and vulnerabilities of young people on the move – particularly their proximity to border spaces and how this affects the risks that they face. The report describes strategies that young people on the move employ to remain below the radar of visibility to state and non-state actors due to fear of arrest, detention, and deportation while also trying to keep themselves safe and access support in border towns. These strategies of (in)visibility provide a way to protect themselves yet at the same time also heighten some of the risks young people face as their vulnerabilities are not always recognised by those who could offer support.
In this report we show that the realities and challenges of life and migration in this region and in Zambia need to be better understood for support to be strengthened and tuned to meet the specific needs of young people on the move. This includes understanding the role of state and non-state stakeholders, the impact of laws and policies and, critically, the experiences of the young people themselves. We provide recommendations for immediate action, recommendations for programming to support young people on the move in the two towns that would reduce risk for young people in this area, and recommendations for longer term policy advocacy.
Combined Illegal, Unregulated and Unreported (IUU) Vessel List.Christina Parmionova
The best available, up-to-date information on all fishing and related vessels that appear on the illegal, unregulated, and unreported (IUU) fishing vessel lists published by Regional Fisheries Management Organisations (RFMOs) and related organisations. The aim of the site is to improve the effectiveness of the original IUU lists as a tool for a wide variety of stakeholders to better understand and combat illegal fishing and broader fisheries crime.
To date, the following regional organisations maintain or share lists of vessels that have been found to carry out or support IUU fishing within their own or adjacent convention areas and/or species of competence:
Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR)
Commission for the Conservation of Southern Bluefin Tuna (CCSBT)
General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean (GFCM)
Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission (IATTC)
International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas (ICCAT)
Indian Ocean Tuna Commission (IOTC)
Northwest Atlantic Fisheries Organisation (NAFO)
North East Atlantic Fisheries Commission (NEAFC)
North Pacific Fisheries Commission (NPFC)
South East Atlantic Fisheries Organisation (SEAFO)
South Pacific Regional Fisheries Management Organisation (SPRFMO)
Southern Indian Ocean Fisheries Agreement (SIOFA)
Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission (WCPFC)
The Combined IUU Fishing Vessel List merges all these sources into one list that provides a single reference point to identify whether a vessel is currently IUU listed. Vessels that have been IUU listed in the past and subsequently delisted (for example because of a change in ownership, or because the vessel is no longer in service) are also retained on the site, so that the site contains a full historic record of IUU listed fishing vessels.
Unlike the IUU lists published on individual RFMO websites, which may update vessel details infrequently or not at all, the Combined IUU Fishing Vessel List is kept up to date with the best available information regarding changes to vessel identity, flag state, ownership, location, and operations.
2. Vapp is an open interactive platform that
uses a gamification approach to crowd
sourcing as a solution development model
to community specific problems.
One such problem is that posed by
violence in our communities and
consequently, IDPs, as a result of said
violence.
In addressing this problem, Vapp seeks to
understand the prevalence of violence in
our communities using instances as case
studies to achieve our target goals.
3. Our goals are broadly categorized in two:
Immediate Practical Solutions(IPS for IDPs); This is directed at Internally
Displaced Persons and covers Education, Health, and Opportunities.
Non-immediate solutions; This may be farther reaching in the terms of
the time and scope involved. Our approach is to seek an understanding
of violence and explore the multiple applications of such knowledge
around issues such as;
-Community policing
- and, determining an appreciation of the extent by which violence has
shaped the identity/reality of the average Nigerian as a result of living
within the geographical identity we call the Nigerian state.
This slide deck will only focus on immediate practical solutions for
obvious reasons.
4. Approach Methodology for Immediate Practical
Solutions:
Obtain our IDP data set/ target group/ or focus
group information.
Define core processes:
-Education
-Health
-Opportunities.
Create teams to manage core processes.
5. Build team.
Team Objectives; Build, deploy and monitor volunteer resource.
(Resource; Human & Material.)
- Define Human; volunteer teachers preferably living around
data set location.
- Material; donated, new or used (preferably) hardcopy reading
material, soft copy reading material and necessary hardware.
Boards, reading and writing materials etc.
Identify Data Set’s Education Gap.
Target volunteer resource to match Data Set needs.
6. Build team.
Team Objectives: , Build, deploy and
monitor volunteer resource. (Resources:
human and Material.)
-Define Human; Volunteer medical expertise,
preferably living around data set location or
willing/able to afford doing so.
-Material; Donated health supplies, could
include but, is not limited to the following;
Sanitary supplies, drugs, sterile gloves etc
7. Build Team.
Team Objectives; Build, deploy and monitor volunteer group to
help with the following;
-Identify skill gap of data set. (Skill set mapping of the data set.)
- Identify Opportunity window for data set within and outside data
set location.
- Approach and engage opportunity clusters (basically
organisations that can provide assistance in maximising the
identified opportunity window for our data set eg PINigeria, Afric
Women Power, Wecyclers, Andela?{maybe})
- Our preferred opportunity window should revolve around ICT,
Agriculture, Environment.
- Bridge skill gap of data set.
8. Media(traditional and new media) affords us the ability to
spread our intentions further than this immediate scope
and also allows us to find, connect and recruit people that
are interested in volunteering. Engaging popular radio
shows like Brekete Family, offer a platform that
communicates our objectives to the appropriate
audience also, as bootstrap methods, they are cost
effective .
The type of media employed also plays a part in the
general implementation strategy and media campaign.
Social media tools like blogs allows for project progress
monitoring and implementation that can be accessed by
the general public. Consequently, they form part of the
larger educative material from which people can learn
our methodology from and even adapt should they
choose to do so.
9. Logistics quality control. (This is to ensure
the optimization of volunteers and
supplies, within the parameters of time
and project goals )
Obtaining our IDP data set involves knowing which camp/group of IDPs we intend to direct our activities at and why. This is a necessary step considering they are over 1.4 million persons and increasing. Consider for example that Borno has over 21 camps and that is just one state. So, which IDP camps are our activities targeted at? It does not have to be in the NE, would it be easier to target IDPs in Abuja instead; considering that most members of the group are located in Abuja?
Also, which ever location of IDPs we target our efforts at, there are other important defining characteristics of individuals in the selected data set, such as; age; literacy level, etc. For instance, the opportunities, health, and, education requirement that could benefit ages 16-35yrs maybe be out of place for 45-65yr olds.
This group has 8 members. Teams are units of two. Team Education/Team Health/Team Opportunities. Media and Logistics is an internal process that largely involves the entire group.
Vapp does not generally recognise hierarchy structures in its groups, focusing instead on the relevant strength of the teams complimentary to the group’s goals and target.
This does not necessarily imply that members of the team will have to go visiting the IDP location in gathering volunteers. This can be done remotely and is even recommended. The slide titled “ Media and Implementation Coherence” offers more information.
Education Gap is used to refer to the degree of deviation from curricular progress at National level. Hence if Data Set is due to write say, JWAEC, but because of present circumstances has not been able to do so, our efforts would be directed, in sufficient parts, at helping them prepare for the next examination. Or alternatively, catching up term-wise.
Educational materials can be made into a standardized pack that includes; writing materials, reading materials, solar powered lamps etc for individuals and boards, writing materials; boards, chalks, markers etc for general use.
Basically the donated health relief/materials should specifically be relevant to the needs of our Data Set and include short term materials and long term materials. For example, short term; toothbrush & paste, detergent, soap, shampoo. For longer term, blankets, hairbrush, mirrors, solar lamps, socks, underwear( top and bottom), head gear etc.
Health relief materials are collected into packs for each individual in the data set and short term materials are supplemented as necessary. Eg, monthly.
Targeting campaigns/ lobby efforts specifically at pharmaceuticals/medical orgs and relief bodies. The blanket scope being the general public.
Opportunity Windows is used to refer to possibilities that allows members of our data set to obtain/increase skills or apply already existing skills.
Opportunity Clusters are identified/recognised possibilities where members of the data set can obtain/increase skills or apply already existing skills.
Preferred Opportunity window is centred around; ICT, Environment, and Agriculture. This is so for many good reasons, scalability and bootstrapping included. However, if there are other identified opportunities that can be of use to the members of the data set, such as outright paid employment, please engage.
Bridging skill gap of data set involves activities aimed at data set by which we improve skills or add value to the data set to make them self sufficient and or employable.
Media and journalism also help greatly, perhaps even more pertinently, in defining the operational methodology for non immediate solutions. Reader may extrapolate observations and share with group where possible.
Logistics quality control takes into consideration the degree of obligation of the group’s members in determining the success of the project. It also looks at how to make the degree of obligation favourable by simplifying its processes concurrently. This is to see that targets can be achieved with the barest minimum of inconvenience to group members.
Logistics also involves storage and distribution considerations.
