product i.e. the music CD's, or mineral water might not even
be marketed in real, it is just a strategy used to generate top-

getting seed funding of an undisclosed amount from Tandon
Group, members of the Mumbai and Sequoia Capital in 2010,
the company secured a funding of Rs 20 crore from Sequoia
Capital in 2011.

Rs 60 lakhs on a daily basis, translating to Rs 219 crore a year.

He moved to New York City in 1918, in search of a newspaper position that would
help him enter the writing world. After a slew of rejections, he met a man who
told him to skip out on journalism and invited him to come work as a copywriter
for an ad agency. He wrote short stories at night and, during the day, streetcar sign

“The hit I made with a slogan,” he said in an interview, “I wrote for the Muscatine

The pay was too meager to fund the lifestyle he craved, and he’d soon pinned 122
rejection slips from magazines around his apartment. Thus, he quit copywriting—
and New York City.
After this, he reworked a novel he’d written during the war about a young Princeton
student who’d enlisted, expanding the book to include the student’s post-war
struggles in New York. It was titled This Side of Paradise. While the book didn’t net
him much money, it popularized his work and allowed him to charge more for his
short stories.
His third novel (the most famous one) has been adapted into films many a times and
a short story of his was the basis of a well-received 2008 film.

Goenka, left their management jobs with the Birla Group to set up
Kemco Chemicals, an Ayurvedic medicine and cosmetic

month later, it changed its name to The X. When it began, its total
capacity consisted of three boilers of 500 horse power each.

Dequeker learnt the craft of the chocolatier and drew most of his
inspiration. The chocolate company, which was formed in 1923, makes
more than 5,000 tons of chocolate each year, with a turnover of about
$44.17 million. It reportedly said that chocolate bars bearing the name
X had already reached the market for the holiday season, but the
company is now preparing to produce chocolates with the new name,
Libeert for Easter.
"It has made quite an impact on our business. It's very difficult to say how
much the cost has been because we didn't get the orders, but we have
an estimation for about two, three million euros, which is quite a
number," marketing manager Desiree Libeert reportedly said. "We had
international customers saying that they could no longer stock our
chocolate as consumers had only negative associations with the name.”

X Industries has come a long way since its inception in 1907, when X Gandhi
started a soda fountain. He passed on the business to his son, who ran a
one-man operation, and, with a hand cranked machine, started a small
retail outlet in 1926.
Eventually, his sons, Ramchandra and Lakshman, inherited the business and
they were instrumental in giving a new direction to the company. The duo
imparted a new vision to the venture and infused a spirit of calculated risk-
taking into the firm. As a result, by the 1970s, the X Company had already
evolved into a modern corporate entity.
A major success factor has been its ability to cater to different market
segments through multiple product ranges. It currently caters to the
domestic and export markets with products such as frozen vegetables and
ready to eat snacks, curries and breads and the product line it is most
known for. This business is poised for strong growth in the coming years
owing to greater urbanization within India and increasing demand for
Indian food amongst developed regions like the USA and western Europe.

These are X’s words. His company had some surplus profits,
which he wanted to use for social development. He found out
that a mere $5,000 would install 15 hand pumps, and had
them installed in a village called Shivnagar in Uttar Pradesh, so
the villagers wouldn't have to walk nearly two miles just to get
clean water. The village folk showed their gratitude in a
unique way too.

More than just national pride, X had a passion for science as
part of its company culture. They had a laboratory devoted
to developing better beer brewing. In 1875, that laboratory
was the first to isolate Saccharomyces pastorianus, the
species of yeast used to brew pale lagers. The laboratory
also made discoveries in protein chemistry that ended up
having applications elsewhere.
After Y won the Nobel Prize in 1922, X gave him a gift – a house
located next to the brewery, which had a direct pipeline to
the brewery so that Y had free beer on tap whenever he
wanted.
Y certainly didn’t rest on his laurels after winning the Nobel
Prize. With the help of the government and X’s Foundation,
he had founded the Institute for Theoretical Physics in 1921.

Around the end of 2005, X worked on a series of hacks and pranks on
Facebook. One of these pranks was an XSS-based worm that spread
through Facebook profiles by way of an unsanitized profile field
(websites). The worm code would rapidly and silently copy itself

another's profiles. The worm collected the data from the Facebook
page and showed it in the format of a MySpace page.
This quickly led to a series of hilarious friend requests of numerous
employees at Facebook as they got infected, including internal test

that he had trolled Mark Zuckerberg at that point and declared the
operation a smashing success.
In January 2006, Dustin Moskovitz offered him an interview with
Facebook and X was hired right away.

delivered on April 3, 1968 is best known for how King seemed to
